A protective overhead light fixture kit is provided for use on an overhead light fixture having an electrical housing and a dome-shaped reflector. The kit includes a grid member, a band, two or more extension springs and a lanyard member. The grid member is situated generally across the open end of the reflector. The band member is placed generally around the outer perimeter of the light fixture reflector. The extension springs include two connection means where one of the connection means is capable of attachment to and outer portion of the grid member and the other of the connection means is capable of attachment to the band. The lanyard member also includes two ends where one end is capable of attachment to the outer portion of the grid member and the other end is capable of attachment to the band. This kit when installed can convert an unprotected overhead light fixture to a protected overhead light fixture.

A heat retaining sleeve for raising the cold spot temperature of a fluorescent lamp is comprised of a base end, a distal end, and a sleeve body sized and shaped to fit over the end of a fluorescent lamp or lamps where the lamp's cold spot exists. The sleeve creates a heat retaining air gap between the inner surface of the sleeve body and the lamp end or ends with the cold spot, and has sufficient length to so that, when fitted over the lamp end or ends, the cold spot temperature is elevated to a temperature that increase the lumen output of the fitted fluorescent lamp or lamps.

The light may further have a reflector formed on the front surface in a manner to surround the light source. Not only is there no flame, but hot debris particles do not sink into the material of the acrylic lens. Thus, containment is maintained.

A fully disposable oil candle comprises a disposable blow-molded exterior resin shell made to resemble a conventional beeswax candle and an inner disposable fuel cell. By configuring the fuel cell to include a separating structure to fit within a radial groove inside the opening of the shell, the cell and the exterior shell can be permanently joined, forming a candle that closely resembles an ordinary beeswax candle. Moreover, the separating structure of the fuel cell acts to provide distance between the fuel cell and the exterior shell, partially insulating the exterior shell from the heat of the fuel cell. By maintaining an insulating distance between the fuel cell and the exterior shell, the exterior shell can be made less robust. The result is a candle that is less expensive to manufacture and ship and more convenient for consumers to use. In addition, the separating structure can act as a safety feature by making it more difficult for individuals to remove the fuel cell from the candle once assembled. Finally, our candle includes a uniquely shaped base to enable it to fit most standard-sized candle holders, making our candle more versatile than other oil candles on the market.
