Abstract:
A keyless access sensor system for use with a keyless access control mechanism (KACM) is described for controlling the operation of a locking device. The KACM receives a signal from a sensor device for keyless access to create a first output signal before the user has begun any action on the handle in order to open the door. The first output signal is sent to a general processor, which initiates a recognition process and, after recognition of the authorized user the processor then generates an unlocking signal which unlocks the locking device before the authorized user will have fully accomplished the action of opening the door. Thus the authorized user is allowed to open the door without any specific un-ergonomic and time-consuming additional action to the simple action of actuating the handle to open the door. The second signal is generated by a device, such as a fob, card or the like, carrying a unique digital or analog identification in response to RF or IR interrogation from the general processor after it receives the output signal from the sensor device for keyless access.
Abstract:
The invention describes a novel method for securing authentic client access to online confidential resources by means of a physical hard key/card device, which does not need a custom card reader, but uses the optical disc drive of any remote computer to conduct a highly secure online transaction on the Internet. Such real online card key (ROCK) device can be read by an optical disc drive of a computer, without allowing any of the file viewing, copying and editing functions. Such ROCK device can be used as a real world physical hard key for accessing secured networks and conducting secure online transactions. It can also be used as a fully functional versatile credit card with additional magnetic stripe and manual authentication methods available on the non-reflective surface of the optical disc based ROCK optical disc card of the present invention.
Abstract:
Security systems and methods control access at remote locations protected by electronic locks. Users open or otherwise manipulate an electronic lock via an electronic key device. The electronic key device may be an open architecture PDA programmed to function as an electronic key device, while retaining its general-purpose PDA functionality. Alternatively, the electronic key device may be a special-purpose device designed to function as an electronic key device. The key device and the lock box communicate with each other, preferably, by infrared techniques. The lock box and the key device are administered by a central authority via a central computer, which coordinates all security measures through the use of, e.g., frequent updates; tokens that the key device cannot read; checksums, including Message Authentication Codes; and encryption. A plurality of key devices may be programmed to open the same lock box. A key device may open a plurality of lock boxes.
Abstract:
An efficient method and a system for controlling access to a location secured by a lock mechanism controlled by a lock control unit, which may provide a high degree of flexibility and a high level of security; the method comprises the steps of storing a first access code in the lock control unit, the first access code being indicative of a predetermined access right to the location; storing a second access code in a second storage means; using an electronic key device for requesting access to the location by initiating transmitting the access code from the second storage means to the lock control unit; comparing the transmitted second access code with the first access code; and if the first access code corresponds to the second access code, initiating operating the lock mechanism; the invention further relates to a method of managing a predetermined access right to a location.
Abstract:
A tool chest with multiple, vertical drawers includes a remotely controlled latching mechanism. A receiver mounted in the cabinet receives a signal from a remote transmitter and initiates operation of a motor to, in turn, drive a linkage which engages or releases a catch on the back side of each drawer.
Abstract:
A power actuated door opener is disclosed with a beam break system for detecting obstructions in a door opening. A transmitter includes a beam emitter and emitter drive circuit for transmitting a train of emitter pulses to a receiver. The receiver includes a pulse detector circuit with a beam detector for producing detector pulses in response to emitter pulses impinging on the detector. The emitter drive circuit and the pulse detector circuit are synchronously coupled with each other and the pulse detector circuit produces a normal output signal only if the detector receives a pulse which is in synchronism with an emitter pulse. The receiver includes an annunciator which produces an audible and a visible warning signal when the pulse detector circuit produces a fault output signal. The audible annunicator is a piezoelectric crystal mounted in the receiver housing with a cover plate operating as a sounding board.
Abstract:
A keyless locking mechanism for use in a door or the like. An operator activates the system by means of a portable remote handheld controller or a remote keypad unit, which transmit coded signals to an electronically controlled, electromechanical door lock device. The electronic and electromechanical device components are configured for secure mounting within the void or hollow portions of existing door locking apparatus, such as within the hollow interior doorknob, or hollow cylindrical sleeve latch actuators, or beneath the interior rose or escutcheon plates. A sensor or receiver/antenna mounted within the outer doorknob receives and forwards the coded signals to a processor which compares them with a predetermined stored signal. If an acceptable comparison is made, the processor generates control signals for the electromechanical device, which acts solely along or about the locking axis to enable or disable the door locking assembly, according to the command initiated by the operator. When locked, the outer doorknob turns freely. When unlocked, it operates in the normal manner, to engage and move the doorlatch and or locking member. Several embodiments of the electromechanical locking device are disclosed. The coded signals include two separate signals which are transmitted in segments interleaved with one another. The first signal includes an entrance code, while the second signal provides information concerning the frequency over which the next segments will be transmitted. The processor uses the second signal information to tune the receiver. Two-way communication between the handheld controller, or keypad and the electronic lock assembly is provided. A master programming unit for programming or reprogramming the electronic lock assembly is also disclosed.
Abstract:
The invention provides a vehicle security device with an electronic use-authorization coding arrangement for preventing unauthorized access to the vehicle. The vehicle security device utilizes digital signature algorithm for encrypting and transmitting authorization and synchronization information, so that the storage of secret information is essential only at the key unit in order to transmit authorization and/or synchronizing information from the key unit to the vehicle unit in a way which is very effectively protected against falsification. Thus, reading out vehicle unit information does not permit unauthorized manufacture of a copied key.
Abstract:
A programmable activation system for the timed locking/unlocking of a security installation includes at least one activation module (10a, 10b) for unlocking an opening element (4) and apparatus for controlling the module to program a time value corresponding to the precise moment where the activation module (10a, 10b) will cause the unlocking of the opening element. The control apparatus includes at least one remote control element (30) constituting a mobile detachable or detached part from the activation module (10a, 10b) which constitutes a fixed part of the installation, these parts including communicating interfaces for the transmission of information, one of the two parts, mobile or fixed, including at least its own exclusive and unique identification code (IDC, IDD), which is transmitted to the other part and memories therein by memories (54, 56) arranged for systematically supplying a traceability of the programming in association with the identification code.
Abstract:
The invention provides a vehicle security device with an electronic use-authorization coding arrangement for identifying authorized access to the vehicle. The vehicle security device utilizes an encryption method which operates on the basis of a one-way function, so that it is only absolutely necessary to store secret code information at the key end, specifically in the form of different inverse images of a one-way function. Only the one-way function values corresponding to these inverse images need be present at the vehicle end, a reading-out of which does not permit unauthorized manufacture of a copied key because of the virtual irreversibility of the one-way function.
