摘要: An RF bandpass filter includes a cascaded series of a first subfilter and a second subfilter. Each subfilter includes a respective inverter, voltage-controlled capacitor and inductor. A first selected one of the first subfilter and the second subfilter is a pseudo low pass filter and a second selected one of the first subfilter and the second subfilter is a pseudo high pass filter. The RF bandpass filter is configured to separately control a bandwidth and center frequency of output RF energy. The bandwidth may be controlled to be substantially fixed over a significant substantial range. The center frequency and bandwidth are controlled by adjusting a voltage input to one or more of the voltage-controlled capacitors.

摘要: An architecture for protecting circuitry used for signal communications between a frequency translation module (20) and a decoder (60) from transient voltage surges. According to an exemplary embodiment, the apparatus comprises a first signal path between a transmission line and a first reference potential, comprising a high impedance negative surge path; and a second signal path between the transmission line and the first reference potential, comprising a high impedance positive surge path, a low inductance surge path and a DC blocker circuit, wherein said high impedance positive surge path is configured in series with said low inductance surge path and said DC blocker circuit, wherein each of said low inductance surge path and said DC blocker circuit are coupled between said high impedance positive surge path and said source of reference potential.

摘要: A multiple frequency source system includes at least one frequency source tunable to a predefined target frequency, and at least one additional frequency source operable to generate a second signal at a frequency which is either higher or lower than the target frequency. A method for tuning the tunable frequency source to the target frequency during concurrent generation of the second signal includes (i) controlling the tunable frequency source to tune to at least one frequency point frequency lower than the target frequency, and thereafter controlling the oscillator to tune to the target frequency, when the second signal is higher in frequency than the target frequency, or (ii) controlling the tunable frequency source to tune to at least one frequency point higher than the target frequency, and thereafter controlling the tunable frequency source to tune to the target frequency, when the second signal is lower in frequency than the target frequency.

The first frequency source includes an input coupled to receive a reference input signal and an output for providing a first frequency source signal. The phase delay includes an input coupled to receive the input reference signal, and an output, the phase delay element operable to apply a predefined phase delay to the input reference signal to produce a phase-delayed input signal. The second frequency source includes an input coupled to receive the phase-delayed input signal and an output for providing a second frequency source signal.

摘要: A receiver such that the period required for tracking adjustment, temperature compensation is not needed, and tracking errors due to fluctuation of the power supply voltage are prevented from increasing, and a tracking adjusting method for the receiver. A DAC 4 generates a voltage according to the value of data (Do) inputted from an MPU 81 by using a control voltage outputted from a low-pass filter 35 in a local oscillator 3 as a reference voltage used during digital-analog conversion. A multiplier circuit 5 analog-multiplies the output voltage of the DAC 4 by a predetermined multiplier. The output voltage of the multiplier circuit 5 is applied as a tuning voltage to a high-frequency tuning circuit 20. In an EEPROM 84 stored is the value of the input data (Do) of the DAC 4 which has been measured in advance and corresponds to the tuned voltage of when the tracking error is the minimum at the central value of the local oscillation frequency, and the MPU 81 reads the data (Do) from the EEPROM 84 and inputs it to the DAC 4.

摘要: An integrated electronic circuit comprises at least first and second variable resonator elements that can be tuned by means of an electric signal (Vtune) and that are arranged on the same silicon substrate, and that are respectively integrated into a Master circuit and a Slave circuit. Each resonator element is associated with a first inductive partner element set in the vicinity of the resonant and antiresonant frequencies; and with a second capacitive partner element, at least one of said partner elements being adjustable by means of said electric signal (Vtune). Controlling both partner elements could be done either by means of an adjustable capacitor, as a varactor, or by means of an inductor, passive or active, fixed or variable.

摘要: An integrated electrical filter includes resistors (R10-12) and capacitors (C10-12). The capacitors are controllable in value by means of a control circuit (100-109) and are formed by a binary weighted array of capacitor elements which are selectively connectable in parallel. A controlled oscillator (103) or a controlled phase shifting network (113) includes a capacitor of the same form as the filter capacitors. The oscillator (103) or phase shifter (113) form part of a phase locked loop (101, 104, 105, 107) which produces a digital code as its control signal at the output of an up/down counter (107). This digital code is latched in a register (109) to provide a control signal for the filter capacitors and also is used directly to control the capacitor(s) in the controlled oscillator or phase shifter.
