Abstract:
A wireless adapter for a digital camera enables communications between the digital camera and remote devices over a wireless network. The wireless adapter comprises a wireless interface for communicating with remote devices, a housing for enclosing said wireless interface, a mechanical connector on said housing to mechanically connect the wireless adapter to the digital camera, and a camera interface to electrically connect the wireless adapter with the digital camera.
Abstract:
An interface controller initializing method for an information processing device equipped with multiple interfaces of the same type comprises the steps of: detecting control of an interface executed by a first control unit; detecting an end of the control of the interface by the first control unit executed according to instructions regarding the control of the interfaces issued by a second control unit; detecting abnormality regarding the control of an interface by the first control unit; allowing a user to input an initialization instruction for initialization of the first control unit; and executing the initialization of the first control unit on condition that the abnormality regarding the control of an interface by the first control unit has been detected, the initialization instruction has been inputted, and the end of the control of at least one of the other interfaces by the first control unit has been detected.
Abstract:
A method is provided for controlling an electronic apparatus, the electronic apparatus including a USB interface that is used for connecting a USB device of a first device class in a first operation mode controlled by a first control program. The method includes reading, upon connection of a USB device of a second device class different from the first device class to the USB interface, a second control program for controlling a second operation mode from the connected USB device; and starting the second operation mode by storing in a storage unit the second control program and executing the second control program.
Abstract:
In a case where a digital camera cannot understand or recognize a request received from a printer, the camera ignores the received request and discards the received request, and transmits a command that does not include any user instruction or print operation to the printer in place of the correct response to the request. In such case, the printer receives the command as the response to the request, and recognizes that the request transmitted by the printer cannot be accepted by the camera.
Abstract:
An existing printer arranged to print data from a PC (personal computer) is used as the printer unit of a facsimile apparatus. The PC uses a printer driver dedicated to an existing printer (capable of performing the same processing as the printer unit of the facsimile apparatus) as a module, serving as application software for a facsimile-apparatus control unit, for printing the data from the PC. When printing data from the PC, a command uniquely directed to the facsimile apparatus is added to the printing data generated by the PC's printer driver, and the resultant data is transmitted to the facsimile apparatus. Upon receipt of the transmitted data, the facsimile apparatus removes the added command, thus restoring the printing data generated by the printer driver, and transmits the restored data to the printer unit to perform printing. It is thus possible to use the printer unit and the printer driver which utilize existing printers, and to cause the facsimile apparatus to wait in a state of receiving a common command system.
Abstract:
An image processing system includes a photographing apparatus, and an image processing apparatus to which the photographing apparatus and a recording medium can be connected. The photographing apparatus includes a controller for executing a program recorded in the recording medium. The image processing apparatus includes a processor for creating a region accessible from the photographing apparatus, and a controller for causing the program to be stored in the region.
Abstract:
An improved image processing system is provided which receives image data at a computer and transfers that image data to a work flow server for image processing and document distribution. The system uses a work flow web application computer program that receives image data from a scanner, transfers that image data via a native interface or a driver on a client computer to a browser on the client computer, and then sends the data to a network document distribution server which is addressed from the client computer using URL's.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus and a method to print a plurality of files stored in a portable recording medium. The image forming apparatus to receive the files stored in the portable recording medium includes an interface unit to provide a communication interface with the portable recording medium, and a control unit connectable with the portable recording medium through the interface unit to control the interface unit to receive the files stored in one selected directory among directories of the portable recording medium through the interface unit. The selection of one of the directories takes place even without individually selecting to-be-printed files among the files stored in the portable recording medium. As a result, among the files stored in the selected directory, a plurality of printable files are simultaneously printed out, thereby providing convenience to users.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a method and corresponding apparatus for conveying office peripheral information. An acquisition module included in a device establishes a connection to an aggregation module. Device information is communicated to the aggregation module using the established connection.
Abstract:
An image processing device connected to a scanner unit for generating a first image signal has a first bidirectional interface for receiving a second image signal from an external computer and a second bidirectional interface for transmitting the first or second image signal to a printer unit. The second bidirectional interface receives a first status signal related to the printer unit and the first bidirectional interface transmits the first status signal and a second status signal related to the scanner unit to the external computer. Therefore, the external computer, which is able to process image data to be printed by the printer unit, can be advised of the status of the printer unit without being directly connected thereto. Therefore, in a first copy mode, the computer can process the image data, while in a second copy mode, the device itself can process the image data.
