Abstract:
Herbicide compositions that include herbicide concentrate compositions (“concentrates”) and “herbicide application compositions,” as well as precursors thereof, derivatives thereof, as methods of preparing and using these compositions, the herbicide compositions containing acid herbicide, amine surfactant, and inorganic acid. The following description relates to herbicide compositions such as herbicide concentrates and herbicide application compositions, as well as compositions that are precursors to these compositions or derivatives of these compositions, and related methods.
Abstract:
A wood treatment concentrate includes, by weight; (a) 0.1-10% of an active wood treatment chemical, (b) 50-99% of a microemulsion concentrate including: (i) 0.03-80%, preferably 40-70%, of a castor oil ethoxylate or tristyryl phenol ethoxylate, (ii) 0-10%, preferably 0.005-6%, of an ethoxylated phosphoric acid ester as pH buffer, (iii) 0.002-40%, preferably 0.05-29%, of a N—C8-C18 alkyl pyrrolidone and (iv) 0-60%, preferably 0.15-40%, of a N—C1-C4 alkyl pyrrolidone, and (v) 0-30%, preferably 0.5-15%, of an ethylene oxide/propylene oxide block copolymer; and (c) 1-50% of a substituted phenol. The use formulation includes (d) water of dilution.
Abstract:
A method and device are disclosed which prevents the decay and deterioration of wooden objects caused by pests by using a controlled release device. This controlled release device utilizes polymers which incorporate pesticides. In the disclosed method, the controlled release device is placed in contact with the wood of the wooden object. The pesticide is gradually released from the device and absorbed into the wood structure. The pesticide absorbed by the wood creates a barrier or an exclusion zone to penetration by inserts. The controlled release device maintains a minimal effective level of pesticide in the barrier or exclusion zone for a predetermined period of time.
Abstract:
A non-woven fabric treated with a biocidal composition including at least one halogenated phenolic biocide; a water soluble, film forming polymer which is a polyvinylpyrrolidone polymer or copolymer; and at least one surfactant, wherein a complex is formed between the halogenated phenolic biocide and the polyvinylpyrrolidone polymer or copolymer so that, after treatment of the non-woven fabric therewith and drying, no cloudy residue remains on the non-woven fabric. A method of impregnating a fabric to prevent rot includes contacting a non-woven fabric with a liquid biocidal composition containing at least one halogenated phenolic biocide, a water soluble, film forming polymer, which is a polyvinylpyrrolidone polymer or copolymer; and at least one surfactant, wherein a complex is formed between the halogenated phenolic biocide and the polyvinylpyrrolidone polymer or copolymer so that, after contacting the non-woven fabric with the liquid biocidal composition and drying, no cloudy residue remains on the non-woven fabric.
