    摘要: In the separation of particles, these are heated together with a gaseous carrier medium. Constitutents of these particles thus vaporize, are cooled in a cooler (21) and condense out. An apparatus for carrying out this process comprises a fan (1) and a heating device (7). A continuous process can be used on a large industrial scale. This is achieved when the particles and the carrier medium are mixed continuously and at controlled rates to give a fluidized blend. This blend is heated to a given temperature in a fluidized bed of a heating device (7), with the production of a mixture consisting of a vapor/gas mixture thus formed and of particle constituents remaining in the form of particles. After the mixture has left the heating device (7), the particle constituents remaining in the form of particles are precipitated and a vapor/gas mixture is passed forward in at least one closed circulation.

    摘要: A composition of matter is used to treat particles entrained in flue gas. The composition comprises a caustic liquid to adjust the resistivity of the entrained particles. An inert particulate matter supports the caustic liquid to inhibit the chemical action of the caustic liquid until used to adjust the resistivity of the entrained particles. The entrained particles are removed from the flue gas by choosing a caustic liquid to adjust the resistivity of the entrained particles. The caustic liquid is supported on inert particulate matter to inhibit the chemical action of the caustic liquid. The supported caustic liquid is supplied to untreated flue gas at a temperature sufficient to separate the caustic liquid from the inert particulate matter. The separated caustic liquid is mixed with the entrained particles so as to coat the entrained particles. The coated particles are then passed through an electrostatic precipitator to remove them from the flue gas.

    摘要: A method and device for removing solid or liquid particles contained in suspension in a gas stream by an electric field, wherein the gas stream flow is directed past ion sources which simultaneously act as field electrodes. The suspended particles are thereby changed in a bipolar manner, such that approximately half of the particles are positively charged and the other half negatively charged, and are forced by the electric field to migrate across the gas stream into a preferred neutralization zone where they are concentrated, discharged, partially agglomerated and coagulated. Subsequently, the particle-enriched and particle-depleted partial gas stream thus formed are separated and treated further in accordance with operating requirements. Thereby the remaining gas stream maximally loaded with particles is fed into a particle-removal device where their withdrawal occurs. The device results in a considerable reduction in the gas volume carried along up to the fine-cleaning stage, and a decrease in cost of the electrofilter by a factor of two or more.

    摘要: The disclosed treatment is for the removal of hydrogen halide constituents of an exhaust gas by means of a dry scrubbing agent to which the gas binds. The agent is sprayed into the gas in finely divided form just prior to flow of the gas through a register located at the entrance to a filter chamber. The agent is thus distributed evenly over the input of the filter and performs its binding function primarily while on the filter. The agent may be sprayed as a finely divided solid or as a fluid which rapidly dries to leave a coating of finely divided agent on the filter.Also disclosed is an apparatus for practicing the method, including a nozzle casing with a plurality of spray nozzles located in the gas passageway at the input side of a register at the entrance to the filter chamber housing an electrical filter. The filter elements of the filter are so designed that the gas passageways between them force the gas to make periodic, sudden changes in direction which lead to a pulsation and a resulting gas turbulence. The turbulence improves the action of the agent on the gases.

A channel-shaped holder receives in the channel thereof a lower section of a frame of the deodorizing filter so as to form in the channel an enclosed space through which the lead wire passes. At least the wall portions bounding the enclosed space are constructed of electrically conductive material and are grounded so that any noise wave emitted from the lead wire positioned within the enclosed space is prevented from leaking out by the shielding function of the conductive wall portions.

    摘要: An electrostatic precipitator for the removal of dust from a gas stream entraining same is subdivided into a plurality of flow passages which can be selectively or collectively shut off. When one of these flow passages is closed off, the collecting electrodes can be rapped, after the high voltage has been disconnected, to cause the collecting electrodes to shed their dust. A conductivity-promoting substance in liquid or powder form is then sprayed into the closed-off flow compartment to deposit upon the collecting electrodes thereof and simultaneously the electrodes are energized. Thereafter, the flow of the gas stream entraining the gas through the flow passages is recommenced and electrostatic deposition of dust takes place in the usual manner. The system has been found to be highly effective for the collection of high-resistance dusts and to avoid reverse ionization effects.

    摘要: A portable electronic precipitator includes a two-stage type electrostatic percipitator mechanism mounted in a portable cabinet such as a wheel-mounted cabinet. The two stage type electrostatic percipitator is mounted in a vertical position with the inlet for the precipitator, containing the ionizer unit at the lower end of the precipitator with the collecting cell being mounted above the ionizer unit. A suitable fan is contained within the cabinet to pull air through the ionizer unit and then through the collector cell. The electrostatic precipitator mechanism is mounted above a particle fallout chamber. A freestanding arm, which is moveable in any desired direction is also mounted on the cabinet with a flexible hose surrounding and supported by the adjustable freestanding arm. The flexible hose completely surrounds the freestanding arm structure whereby no external support for the hose is required, thereby allowing the apparatus to be used in confined spaces with the hose protecting the freestanding arm structure.
