    摘要: A water separator comprises an axially extending airflow passage, an airflow mixer, a plurality of electric plates of alternating charge, and a mechanical separator. The airflow mixer, the plurality of electric plates, and the mechanical separator are disposed within the airflow passage. The airflow mixer imparts a non-axial flow component on airflow through the airflow passage. The electric plates are situated downstream of the mixer, and create an electric field region within the airflow passage. The mechanical separator is situated at or downstream of the electric field region, and is disposed to separate water droplets from air.

    摘要: An exhaust gas treatment apparatus 1a of the present invention includes: a tubular body 10, a discharge electrode 12 disposed inside the tubular body 10, and a stick-shaped dust collection electrode 14. The number of the particulates 22 suspended in the exhaust gas 20 is decreased by charging the particulate matter 22 contained in the exhaust gas passing through the tubular body 10 by corona discharge 24 caused by the discharge electrode 12, collecting the charged particulate matter 22a on the inner wall face 10a of the tubular body 10 by the electric field 26 generated by the dust collection electrode 14 to agglomerate the particulate matter 22a, and allowing the agglomerated particulate matter 22b to scatter again.

    摘要: A dust collector for collecting dust, in which the rarefaction of a dielectric at the rear part of electric field forming apparatus is prevented, whereby the collecting efficiency can be increased. The dust collector includes a charging device for charging a substance to be collected, such as dust and mist, contained in a gas; a sprayer device for spraying a dielectric on the substance to be collected which is charged by the charging device; an electric field forming device, having first and second electrodes and which form a direct current electric field and dielectrically polarize the dielectric sprayed by the spray device; and a dielectric collecting device for collecting the dielectric which has arrested the substance to be collected. The spray device includes grounding device and for electrically grounding the dielectric before being sprayed to let a charge of the dielectric escape.

    摘要: A size preferential electrostatic agglomerator is provided for agglomerating small particles with larger nullcarriernull particles. The agglomerator comprises an inlet for receiving a gas flow, a separator for separating the gas flow into flow streams based on the size of the particles therein, an ionization region for imparting an opposite electrical charge to each of the flow streams, an agglomeration region receiving the flow streams to facilitate the agglomeration of the oppositely charged particles, and an outlet for exhausting the gas flow containing agglomerated particles to facilitate collection, processing or other activity on the agglomerated particles. The present invention provides an efficient system for gathering large amounts of small particles in a gas flow.

    摘要: Apparatus arranged in a closed system for removing particulate matter and gases from a polluted gas stream that includes a sorbent particulate charging and injection gun for electrostatically charging sorbent particles and injecting them into a polluted gas stream to charge and agglomerize pollution particulates therein, the stream flowing into a collection system housing that contains a series of moving and static bed filters and provides for operations at pressures less than atmospheric, and at temperatures up to two thousand (2000) degrees F. The filter beds are maintained across the housing and spaced apart from front to back therein, each filter containing a media material selected for removing the charged agglomerized pollution and sorbent reacted particulates and reacting with gases in the polluted gas stream, providing for removal thereof to clean that gas stream that is then vented to atmosphere. At least one and preferably a plurality of moving bed filters are arranged in the collection system housing, each, in turn, receiving and passing the gas stream therethrough, which filter beds each include rotary airlock and rotary valves for maintaining a closed system and preventing infiltration of outside air within the housing while still allowing new media materials to be added and vented out of the filter, and including a static filter bed or beds arranged as the last filter bed or filter beds in the series that provides for a removal of any remaining pollutants from the gas stream prior its venting to atmosphere.
