Abstract:
A method and apparatus for dispensing material, including adhesives, onto a substrate, including boxes and cartoons. A first and second dispenser are either operated in a dispense and standby mode or both dispense at least a portion of the dispensed pattern. The detection of a failure of one of the dispensing guns causes the other gun to dispense the complete pattern while de-activating the failed gun thereby maintaining production.
Abstract:
The invention provides a mobile coating and curing apparatus for applying and curing an ultraviolet or an electron beam curable material. The apparatus includes a housing containing a first compartment containing a coater, a second compartment containing an ultraviolet or electron beam curing energy source, a partition wall between the first and second compartments and a means for moving the housing across a surface to be coated. The apparatus provides a means for coating surfaces which are generally too large to be coated by stationary coating and curing devices.
Abstract:
Joints or other discontinuities in a live gas pipeline are sealed by attaching an insertion duct to the exterior of the pipeline, inserting a spraying device into the pipeline through the insertion duct, mechanically orienting the spraying device adjacent the joint or other discontinuity and spraying a coating material onto the interior surface of the pipeline wherein the coating material may be applied and will cure in the presence of pressurized flowing gas.
Abstract:
A coating method for a coating liquid includes preparing a coating surface which has a plurality of regions that are to be coated with said coating liquid; providing a plurality of storage chambers under atmospheric pressure in which said coating liquid is stored in respective amounts that enable the coating surfaces of said corresponding regions being coated to be coated to substantially the same coating thickness; disposing said corresponding regions being coated on the undersides of said storage chambers; and applying said coating liquid on the coating surfaces of said regions being coated by pushing said coating liquid stored in said storage chambers by said atmospheric pressure.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a dispersant that can be used to prevent compressors fouling. The dispersant is particularly useful in applications such as the prevention of fouling of compressor blades in compressors used for ethylene production. The dispersant is an admixture of the reaction product of a polyalkyl polyamine, an alkylphenol, and an aldehyde; and a polyalkyl acrylate polymer.
Abstract:
An embodiment of the present invention provides a protective layer which includes an aggregate of long chain molecules wherein each long chain molecule is randomly oriented and consistently entangled to adjacent long chain molecules throughout the aggregate of long chain molecules. Additionally, the layer is essentially free from voids and essentially free from residual stresses. By way of example and not limitation, the long chain molecule may be a plastic or liquid crystal polymer. Additionally, a method for forming the protective layer is disclosed herein. The method includes the steps of disposing an aggregate of long chain molecules in a liquid state onto a substrate such that each long chain molecule is randomly oriented, maintaining the liquid state of the aggregate of long chain molecules such that each long chain molecule is consistently entangled to adjacent long chain molecules throughout the aggregate of long chain molecules, and solidifying the aggregate of long chain molecules from the liquid state to a solid state.
Abstract:
A sprayed-on phosphate cement coating formed from the combination and reaction of a phosphoric acid solution and a base metal solution. The acid solution and base solution may be intermixed prior to spraying, during spraying, or on a substrate. The curing reaction rate of the phosphate cement coating and its final physical properties may be controlled by adding various retardants, accelerants, reducers, wetting agents, superplasticizers, buffers, water reducers, adhesive agents, hardening agents, and/or sequestrants to the precursor solutions. The curing rate and properties of the cement coating may be further controlled by adjusting the temperature of the precursor solutions and/or the target substrate.
Abstract:
Antimisting additives are used in crosslinkable silicone coating compositions for reducing aerosol formation, the antimisting additives being alkenyl-functional siloxane copolymers prepared by reacting a hydrocarbon containing at least three aliphatic double bonds, and with an organosiloxane (2) having terminal Si-bonded hydrogen atoms in the presence of a hydrosilylation catalyst (3) at a ratio of Si-bonded hydrogen to aliphatic double bonds of from 1.3 to 10, and subsequently reacting the resulting SiH-containing hydrocarbon-siloxane copolymer with an &agr;,&ohgr;-dialkenylsiloxane polymer (4) in the presence of a hydrosilylation catalyst (3) at a ratio of aliphatic double bonds to Si-bonded hydrogen of from 1.2 to 10, and optionally, in another step, equilibrating the resulting alkenyl-functional siloxane copolymers with an organopolysiloxane (5).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a manufacturing process of a coated granular sodium percarbonate, wherein the surface of said sodium percarbonate establishes a multiple coating layer by being internally coated with a specific composition containing alkali metal silicate while externally coated with a specific composition containing alkali metal sulfate on upper part of said internally coated layer thus providing said sodium percarbonate an excellent dissolving rate in water as well as a good storage stability, preventing it from caking during delivery or storage, and being ultimately utilized as an effective detergent bleach containing zeolite as its detergent builder.
