Abstract:
A deep hole drill is rotatable around a geometric axis and includes a body defining a through-channel arranged for internal chip evacuation. The channel opens in front and rear ends of the body. One or more cutting edges are made integrally with the rest of the body, more precisely from a hard material, such as cemented carbide or CERMET. A front bridge of the body extends across the front channel and possesses the integral cutting edge(s).
Abstract:
A rotary cutting tool using insert type knives or blades (a) 12. An adjustor 14 interfaces with the blades (a) 12, precisely and equally moving the blades inward or outward with respect to the axis of the cutting tool. The adjustor 14 may be actuated by turning with a tool or by hand, thus changing the cutting diameter or profile of the cutting tool. Blade set screws 16 are provided to lock the position of the blades (a) 12 once the desired adjustment has been accomplished.
Abstract:
A reaming tool for a flexible tubing has cutting blades mounted in a spaced-apart relationship with a base of a shaft that is inserted into an end of the tubing. The blades cut a bevel on an outer periphery of the tubing so that an aluminum layer of a composite tubing is cut back from the end of the tubing to inhibit bi-metal corrosion when a tubing joint is formed using a tubing connector made of copper or brass.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a tool head, especially a fine drill head, comprising a machine shank and a tool shank having a joint center axis, wherein the tool shank has a rigid core and a head with a tool, supported by a parallel spring arrangement and is able to be elastically displaced in relation thereto, said head having several limbs which emanate therefrom and form the parallel spring arrangement, whereby at least one of said limbs is fixed to the core or machine shank. The inventive tool head also comprises a device for radial displacement of the head in relation to the core, comprising a positioning device which has a conical part and is guided inside the core. The conical part bears against a contact part of the parallel spring arrangement under pressure when in use. The core is configured with the parallel spring arrangement in a single piece.
Abstract:
The concept of my idea is a tool used in conjunction with a ratchet wrench that would re-thread a hole into which a spark plug was inserted or other holes with in which the threads are cross-threaded. It can be used in engine cylinder heads on both styles of engines, works well with over head cam engines. Produced from tool-grade steel, measuring 5 inches long and vary in diameter (null and null inch.) null-inch diameter found at the top of this tool would allow for the attachment of a null-inch drive shaft of a ratchet wrench. The bottom of the shaft would feature threads that allow internal threads to align correctly. A ratchet wrench would be cranked to create the turning motion needed to cut the threads. This tool provides convenience, durability, and efficiency. The professional auto mechanics and the do-it-yourselfer can use it.
Abstract:
A twist drill or drill/chamfer tool that comprises a drill (1) with a shaft section (2) that is provided with a twisted flute, and a clamping ring (4) as the retainer of a facing cutter (5). Said clamping ring tubularly encloses the shaft section (2) or the drill shaft (30) and can be fixed thereon in different axial adjustable positions. The clamping ring (4) can be tensioned on the drill (1) by means of tension screws (6) that extend therethrough substantially radially to the axis (7) of the drill. The tension screws (6) impinge the surfaces of the twisted flutes (9, 10) which are enclosed by the clamping ring (4) indirectly with a clamping shoe (19, 20) that is interposed in a twisted flute (9, 10).
Abstract:
A device for chip forming machining including first and second rotatable bodies arranged along a common axis of rotation. The first body forms a male element, and the second body forms a female element into which the male element is threaded for forming a threaded joint. The male element has an outer circumferential area displaced in the axial direction in relation to the thread thereof and which engages a corresponding inner circumferential area of the female element by a press-fit. One or both of those circumferential areas has an out-of-roundness, such that there occurs a press-fit along two or more preselected regions in the circumferential direction.
Abstract:
A rotary tool for chip removing machining, for example a milling cutter or a drill, includes a shaft, a holder, and a cutting part. The shaft has a conical seating arranged in its front end. The holder has a slightly conical recess, whose cross-sectional dimension decreases toward the open end of the recess. The cutting part has a slightly conical pin designed to be received in the recess and has a cross-sectional dimension which increases in the direction of the free end of the pin. The recess is formed by a wall which is elastically flexible in a radial direction. When the holder is drawn axially into the seating, the wall is flexed radially inwardly, causing the conical surface of the recess to tightly grip the conical surface of the pin and create an interference fit of the pin in the recess.
Abstract:
A tunable toolholder with a dynamic vibration absorber wherein an absorber mass is compressed between two resilient supports utilizing at least one longitudinally movable pressure plate to dynamically tune the toolholder. The pressure plate is displaced by an adjustment screw extending through the front face of a toolholder head removably mounted at one end of the toolholder.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a machine reamer, with a shaft-like base body (10) and a reaming head (12), projecting axially from the front face of the base body. According to the invention, the reaming head is in the form of a one-piece exchangeable cutting tip (12), which may be chucked into a tip seat (14) on the front face of the base body (10), in a coaxially self-centering manner, in order to maintain a high precision coaxialism, despite low material and construction requirements.
