    摘要: An improved fluent product dispenser in which the product is dispensed by means of compressed air has a dispenser body having a dispensing means therein for mixing and dispersing the fluent product and compressed air and has a piston-cylinder means thereon by which the air is compressed, and when it reaches a certain predetermined pressure, is suddenly released. The fixed member of the piston-cylinder means has a fluent product containing recess opening toward the movable member of the piston-cylinder means, and a product pressurizing piston in the product containing recess has an end exposed toward the movable member or the piston-cylinder means. A product control valve means controls the flow of product from the product containing recess to the dispensing nozzle through the body. Likewise, a compressed air valve opens to permit flow of compressed air through a compressed air path in the body to the nozzle when the compressed air reaches a certain predetermined pressure. A product valve actuator is coupled to the product valve and is mounted in a flexible diaphragm sealed at the edge thereof, and the compressed air flow path opens into the space beneath the diaphragm so as to open the product valve in a predetermined time relationship to the opening of the compressed air valve means, so that when the movable member of the piston-cylinder means is moved toward the fixed member for compressed air, the compressed air acts on the product pressurizing piston for pressurizing the product, and when the compressed air is released from the piston-cylinder means, it acts on the product valve actuator to actuate the product valve and releases the product only upon release of compressed air.

    摘要: A single dose dispensing device for aspirating a product located in a replaceable container by means of compressed air is disclosed. The device includes a piston-cylinder assembly having a movable member and a fixed member and has a compressed air flow path therethrough with an aperture at the free end of the fixed member. A product dispensing member, also having a compressed air flow path therethrough is connected to the piston-cylinder assembly, the respective compressed air flow paths being in communication with one another. The dispensing member further includes a product storing chamber and an aspirating means in communication with both the product storing chamber and the compressed air flow path. A diaphragm member normally blocks the compressed air flow path and is adapted to open when the movable member substantially completes a compression stroke, thus allowing product to be dispensed by means of compressed air.

    摘要: A molded body has a crowned rectangularly shaped bottom and a water inlet and outlet positioned to establish a water flow longitudinally over the crowned surface and into a wash basket. A rectangularly shaped hopper is positioned above the crowned surface for storing and controllably dispensing dry detergent onto the crowned surface. An overflow is formed in a side wall of the body for limiting the level of the water flowing through the body. An opening in an inlet passage functions as an air break to prevent siphoning of water back into the potable water supply. A spill tray directs water from the overflow and the inlet passage opening onto the tub top and thence into the wash tub to prevent spillage. Baffle members formed on both the bottom and the hopper cooperate to form a longitudinal passage from inlet to outlet and to divert air turbulence from the dry detergent.

    摘要: An embodiment of the gas source is disclosed which uses a compressed gas cylinder whose interior is divided into two chambers by a folded bladder. One chamber is a storage chamber for the compressed gas and the other is a combustion chamber for housing and burning a solid propellant. When the discharge valve is opened, a gas pressure pulse is applied from the storage chamber to a pressure-responsive spring in the propellant ignition system. The ignition system functions to ignite the propellant and cause the generation of gases. These gases act upon the bladder causing it to unfold as the compressed gas is discharged. The generation of gas is tailored to cause the compressed gas within the storage chamber and thereby the discharge pressure to remain essentially constant.

    摘要: A valve plunger movable through an opening in the wall of the product container, cooperates with a valve housing which receives product from the container and with a propellant cartridge carried by such housing within the container. Discharge of the propellant through a passage in the plunger in aspirating relation to a passage from the valve housing induces a flow of product which is discharged together with the propellant into the atmosphere. A resiliently deformable annular valve within the product container is clamped between the valve housing and the container wall with its inner periphery in sealing engagement with the valve plunger to prevent leakage of product externally of the plunger through the opening in which the plunger moves. The outer peripheral portion of the valve projects outwardly from the housing and across an annular channel encircling the housing to sealingly engage an annular valve seat concentric with the annular channel. The channel communicates with the atmosphere through the aforesaid opening and atmospheric air entering said channel may unseat the valve to permit influx of atmospheric air into the container for pressure equalizing purposes. One or more grooves or passages opening from the channel through the valve seat at locations normally covered by the valve, are uncovered in the event the valve is deformed by an internal superatmospheric pressure so as to be depressed into the annular channel and rocked about the inner edge of the valve seat whereby to uncover the vent passage.

    摘要: An air volume control for hydropneumatic tanks employing a motor-driven air compressor which is controlled by an air pressure switch and an electronic liquid level responsive switch. These switches are mounted in a common housing which is attached to the top of the hydropneumatic tank by a pipe nipple. A wire with an electrode at its lower end extends into the tank through an insulator positioned in the nipple to sense the water level in the tank. A check valve in the air compressor exhaust line isolates the air compressor from tank pressure when the compressor is not pumping and a safety relief valve connected to the air pressure line insures against overpressurization of the tank by the air compressor in the event the pressure switch fails to open or if for some other reason the air compressor is caused to run when the preset pressure is exceeded. The air pressure switch and electronic liquid level control switch are mounted as a unit and the motor-driven air compressor may be included in this unit or a separate motor-driven air compressor may be provided. This control may be mounted either on the top of the hydropneumatic tank or on a side of the tank at the water line, in which case an aspirating electrode is substituted for the electrode wire. A part of the aspirating electrode insulator is adapted to flex when the pressure in the tank increases or decreases so that minerals deposited thereon break off as rapidly as they form.
