Abstract: A compression stage for the compression of cracked gas, the compression stage comprising a liquid separating means for separating liquid components from gaseous components of a cracked gas, a compressor connected to the liquid separating means, a gas cooling means connected to the compressor for cooling the compressed gas from the compressor, wherein the gas cooling means are cooled by a first cooling fluid from the cooling fluid source. The stage further comprises gas precooling means connected to the liquid separating means cracked gas, having an inlet for receiving the cracked gas.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an integrated process to convert crude oil into petrochemical products comprising crude oil distillation, aromatic ring opening, and olefins synthesis, which process comprises subjecting a hydrocarbon feed to aromatic ring opening to produce LPG and subjecting the LPG produced in the integrated process to olefins synthesis. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a process installation to convert crude oil into petrochemical products comprising a crude distillation unit comprising an inlet for crude oil and at least one outlet for kerosene and/or gasoil; an aromatic ring opening unit comprising an inlet for a hydrocarbon feed to aromatic ring opening and an outlet for LPG; and a unit for the olefins synthesis comprising an inlet for LPG produced by the integrated petrochemical process installation and an outlet for olefins. The hydrocarbon feed subjected to aromatic ring opening comprises kerosene and/or gasoil produced by crude oil distillation in the process; and refinery unit-derived middle-distillate produced in the process. The process and the process installation of the present invention have an increased production of petrochemicals at the expense of the production of fuels and an improved propylene yield.

Abstract: A system includes a heat exchange system and a power generation system. The heat exchange system includes first, second, and third heat exchangers each operable as a continuous source of heat from a delayed coking plant. The first and second heat exchangers heat first and second fluid streams to produce heated first and second fluid streams, respectively. The heated second fluid stream has a lower temperature and a greater quantity of heat than the heated first fluid stream. The third heat exchanger heats a third fluid stream to produce a heated third fluid stream that includes the heated first fluid stream and a hot fluid stream. The heated third fluid stream has a lower temperature than the heated first fluid stream. The power generation system generates power using heat from the heated second and third fluid streams.

Abstract: A method comprising a combination and sequential methods to: a.-)Produce solid vacuum residue, b.-) Melt the solid vacuum residue, and c.-)Heat the melted Solid Vacuum residue. This invention applies to any single or mixture of hydrocarbons including one or more heavy crude oils, extra heavy crude oils, tar sands and/or bitumens, (named heavy feedstocks). The heavy feedstock is processed in the production field or a nearby location using atmospheric, vacuum distillation and a solid forming unit, to produce liquid distillates and a solid vacuum residue resulting from a deep cut point of the heavy vacuum gasoil. The Solid Vacuum Residue is melted and heated at the destination to be used as feedstocks in refineries deep conversion units to optimize operations and economics.This invention reduces the diluent imports at the heavy feedstocks production fields used for its production and/or its transportation.

Abstract: A process for treating a heavy oil by heating a feedstock comprising a heavy oil in order to separate from the heavy oil a first fraction. The first fraction contains no more than 25% of the total number of acid groups of the heavy oil. A second fraction contains at least 75% of the total number of acid groups of the heavy oil. The second fraction then is treated under conditions that provide a heavy oil that has a total acid number, or TAN, that does not exceed 1.0 mg KOH/g, or is at least 50% lower than the total acid number prior to treatment, an olefin content that does not exceed 1.0 wt. %, and a p-value of at least 50% of the p-value of the heavy oil prior to treatment, or a p-value that is at least 1.5.
