摘要:
A nonwoven interlining and nonwoven chest piece are combined and together employed to be incorporated into a garment such as jacket or coat by pressing. This is accomplished by providing thermally activatable adhesive on both faces of the combination so that steam pressing serves to join it to the garment fabric. The individual nonwoven layers are only partially prefixed or internally bonded and a further mass of resilient binder adds to the cohesiveness of the unit.

A method is disclosed for adhesively securing an open mesh, woven nylon or polyester scrim fabric to avoid distortion or movement of the individual yarns or thread members of said fabric said method comprising applying to said fabric a coating of a dispersion of a carboxylated copolymer of chloroprene and methacrylic acid and drying said coating thereby bonding the warp and fill yarns of said fabric together at their cross over points.

Suspension agent for synthetic plastics powders for spotwise coating of interlinings for articles of clothing, comprising an aqueous solution of the salt of a polymeric organic acid in a concentration of 0.05 to 3% by weight, and additionally containing in extremely fine dispersion of a member selected from the group of 4 to 15% by weight of an unsubstituted fatty acid and 0.05 to 15% by weight of a hydroxy substituted fatty acid.

A latex composition especially suitable as a base for textile laminating compounds comprising (1) an elastomeric polymer latex and (2) a ternary mixture of granular starch, urea and borax in which the weight ratio of starch to urea is between about 1.2:1 and 5:1 and the weight ratio of starch to borax is between about 1.5:1 and 12:1. Up to about 40 parts by weight (basis 100 parts by weight of dry polymer solids) of the ternary mixture are contained in the latex to which extremely high levels of inorganic filler may be added while maintaining a high degree of strength for textile laminating applications.

A spray process for the deposition of carboxyl-containing adhesive latices as discrete droplets wherein the droplets are maintained as raised, spaced deposits on the substrate for lamination is provided. The adhesive latex is sprayed at a low viscosity but prior to contact with the substrate the viscosity of the latex droplets is increased so that upon striking the substrate the droplets remain as raised, spaced deposits rather than coalescing to form a continuous adhesive layer or being absorbed by the substrate. Laminates obtained with the present spray process have increased resistance to delamination, good flexibility and hand.
