The three-dimensional texture comprises peaks and valleys such that the texture may comprise an Average Peak to Peak Distance in the range of about 1 mm to about 20 mm, an Average Height Differential in the range of about 1 mm to about 3 mm, and a Surface Topography Index in the range of about 0.01 to about 10. The first nonwoven substrate may comprise polyester. The nonwoven material comprises a second nonwoven substrate comprising a polyolefin and a surfactant applied to the first or second nonwoven substrates. The surfactant is included at an add-on level of at least 0.1%, by weight of the nonwoven material. The first nonwoven substrate is joined to the second nonwoven substrate.

摘要： An impact resistant membrane and methods of preparing and utilizing the membrane are disclosed. The membrane comprises a loft layer, a first polymeric layer bonded to a first surface of the loft layer, and a second polymeric layer bonded to a second surface of the loft layer. The membrane can be fabricated by providing a loft layer and applying a polymeric layer on a first surface and on a second surface of the loft layer. The membrane has a higher resistance to failure due to impact and thus protects the underlying structure membrane for a longer time. A method of facilitating protecting a structure comprises providing a single ply membrane having a loft layer and a polymeric layer disposed on at least two surfaces of the loft layer.

摘要： An elongated protective textile sleeve for protecting elongate members and methods of constructing a fabric substrate therefore are provided. The fabric substrate has a plurality of filamentary members woven, knitted or braided with one another. At least some of the filamentary members of the substrate extend to cut edges and are fabricated of a multi-component material that includes a core of a first polymeric material and an outer sheath of a second polymeric material. The outer sheath is heat-fusible and the inner core is heat-settable. The outer sheaths of the filamentary members are heat fused at least in the regions near the cut edges to keep the cut edges from fraying or the filamentary members from pulling out of the substrate. The core is heat set to form the desired shape of the protective sleeve.

Optionally, the macroscopically three-dimensional cleaning sheets can comprise a contractable material (e.g., a scrim material), which when heated and then cooled contracts so as to provide a macroscopic, three-dimensional structure. Macroscopic three-dimensionality is described in terms of “average peak-to-peak distance” and “surface topography index”, as well in terms of “average height differential”. Also disclosed are cleaning implements comprising a handle and the described cleaning sheets. Processes for the sheets, benefits of the processes, and articles of manufacture are also disclosed.

摘要： A multi-layered, variable-angled, non-crimped fabric for reinforcement of composite structures provides for holding the non-woven yarns as laid-out by adhesion of polymeric adhesive applied to the non-woven yarns. The adhesive layer on the yarns, dissolves as liquid resin is applied to form a composite structure, the polymeric coating dissolving in the liquid resin. The polymeric adhesive dissolves to allow liquid resin to wet-out the yarns. Curing creates the desired composite structure. Filament yarns useful in the present invention include but are not limited to those made of aramid, boron, carbon, fiberglass, nylon, PBO, PEN, polyester, and polyethylene. A preferred adhesive is low molecular weight polyester and a preferred liquid resin is polyester resin.

摘要： A roofing underlayment having a slip-resistant surface includes a woven polypropylene scrim laminated to a top layer made from a non-woven spun-bond polypropylene fabric. During lamination, the scrim is bonded to the top layer by a polypropylene coating that impregnates the scrim, thereby forming a structural bottom layer comprising the polypropylene-impregnated scrim. The non-woven fibers of the top layer provide a micro-textured, slip-resistant surface. A second polypropylene coating may be applied to the bottom surface of the bottom structural layer. An adhesive layer may optionally be applied either to the bottom surface of the bottom structural layer, or, if used, to the bottom surface of the second polypropylene coating.
