摘要： A round ride adapted for efficient and safe maintenance of elevated components. The ride includes a central hub assembly with a hub and a hub drive adapted for selectively rotating the hub about a central axis. The hub assembly includes a plurality of vehicle support arms pivotally mounted at a first end to the hub and extending outward to a second end. The round ride includes a maintenance platform assembly with, for each of the vehicle support arms, extension plates proximate to the first end and extending outward from sides of the vehicle support arm. The extension plates each include a planar upper surface, and the planar upper surfaces are coplanar with an upper surface of the vehicle support arm. When the support arms are pivoted into a horizontal position, the upper surfaces of the plates combined with the upper surfaces of the arms creates a platform near the hub.

摘要： A round ride that creates a rotating ride experience with a varying frequency of vehicle elevations. The round ride includes a central hub assembly with a hub and a hub drive that rotates the hub about a central axis at a hub rotation rate. The drive assembly includes support arms extending outward from the hub, upon which are mounted passenger vehicles. The support arms are pivotally mounted to the hub. The round ride includes a track structure with a ring-shaped running surface extending about the central axis and with a track drive rotating the running surface about the central axis at a track rotation rate in the same or differing direction and rate as the hub. The vehicles are vertically supported by the running surface which is contoured to define a series of hills and valleys, and the running surface and the hub are independently rotated about the central axis.

摘要： A round ride with passenger-initiated motion profiles controlling vertical vehicle movements. The ride includes a drive assembly with a rotating hub that includes support arms extending outward from the structure supporting passenger vehicles. Each of the vehicles includes a triggering device capable of generating either an onboard or offboard discrete signal when operated by a passenger causing a controller to select a motion profile from a number of stored profiles that each defines an actuator motion profile (or angular movement of a support arm about its pivotal mounting point to the rotatable central hub). The motion profiles define different angular rotations for a support arm to cause a vehicle to jump to differing heights, and the profile may be chosen by the controller based on vehicle height and position along the circular path and other environmental inputs such as a game state for the vehicle or a show/ride status.

摘要： An amusement ride has rails defining a longitudinal travel direction along which a car is displaceable. A longitudinally extending drive member secured to this car is engageable by drive members which rotate to displace the car along the rails in the longitudinal direction. This member comprises at least two generally parallel, longitudinally extending, and vertically spaced chains each formed of a longitudinal succession of links and a plurality of longitudinally succeeding rigid segments each having a pair of transversely bolted-together halves flanking the chains. The halves of each segment are complementarily formed to and encase a respective plurality of the chain links.

摘要： An amusement ride in which a passenger carrier or cab is conveyed by a chain or the like to the top of a substantially vertical tower and is there released from the chain so that the cab drops in substantially free-fall to a region along the tower where it is braked to a halt or to a reduced speed. The cab near the end of the aforementioned braking zone is again engaged by a chain and is moved downwardly to the bottom of the tower and then again released for movement horizontally to near a loading position. After the cab is again loaded, it is moved into engagement with the first mentioned conveying chain and is carried thereby to the top of the tower for another free-fall cycle. The entire structure is mounted on a trailer vehicle and the tower is so constructed that it can be collapsed on the vehicle for transporting.

摘要： A collapsible and portable, over-the-road carrousel having when in assembly, a plurality of passenger-carrying gondolas mounted from a rotatable sweep assembly, wherein an hydraulically powered elevator, with included linkage, is so mounted from and upon a portable platform, which platform serves as a vehicle trailer in over-the-road transport and in assembly serves as a base, as to raise and lower, within wide and predetermined limits, the sweep assembly whether or not the latter be in rotation, through continuously variable relation of the sweep assembly both as to its vertical height above platform and as to its angular attitude with respect to either the vertical or horizontal and which elevator, when desired and through its included linkage, will so position the sweep assembly as to permit simultaneous loading and unloading of all of the passenger-carrying gondolas, the hydraulic powering for the elevator being such that changes in the vertical height and angular attitude of the sweep assembly as well as changes in the rotational speed of the latter, can all be accomplished independently of each other.
