    摘要: An envelope detector circuit, suitable for use in RFID tags, includes a voltage doubler circuit and a biasing voltage generating circuit which comprises components matched respectively to rectifying components of the voltage doubler circuit. A rectifying component of this voltage doubler circuit is formed by a transistor controlled by the biasing voltage generating circuit which provides a biasing voltage to a control gate of this transistor, the biasing voltage generating circuit being arranged so as to permit a determined forward biasing current to flow through the transistor and further rectifying elements of the voltage doubler circuit. This embodiment provides fast, highly sensitive detection of envelope waveforms in input signals. Thanks to the matched rectifying components, efficiency variations due to variations in manufacturing process can be eliminated. The envelope detector circuit is further arranged for maintaining a stable detection independent of variations in temperature.

    摘要: A BASK demodulator includes a signal modifying circuit and a low pass filter (LPF) that couples an amplifier to an output of the modifying circuit. The modifying circuit includes a signal scaling circuit, a rectifying circuit and an AC coupling circuit. A signal shaping circuit couples an output of the amplifier to an output of the demodulator. The signal scaling circuit scales an input BASK modulated signal to provide an unclipped scaled and biased alternating signal that alternates about a bias voltage at a minimum carrier frequency. The rectifying circuit rectifies the unclipped signal to provide a partially rectified signal that is decoupled by the AC coupling circuit to provide a clipped scaled and biased alternating signal. The LPF removes the signal from the clipped scaled and biased alternating signal to provide a demodulated signal, which then is amplified by the amplifier and shaped by the shaping circuit.

    摘要: Two capacitors are provided for demodulating an amplitude-modulated signal and can be supplied with a signal that is rectified by a diode and that is at a voltage. The half-cycles of this signal are used for alternately charging the first or second capacitor using a switch. The capacitors are discharged using switches. Comparing the amplitude values, which are stored in the capacitors, of successive half-cycles in an evaluation unit allows simple and precise demodulation, which can be achieved with few components and can be carried out at very high frequencies.

    摘要: A Colpitts-type oscillator circuit suitable for use with electronic identification systems is disclosed. The oscillator circuit utilizes a pair of transistors coupled together with a feedback loop that includes a parallel LC circuit such that the output amplitude can be as high as a factor of 20 times the supply voltage or more while maintaining a high Q, low distortion output. The oscillator circuit is a modified Colpitts oscillator that includes a NPN transistor and a PNP transistor coupled together and a Colpitts type feedback loop containing a parallel LC circuit. The capacitance of the parallel LC circuit consists of at least two capacitors in series forming a capacitive divider which provides a low impedance feedback via the base of the NPN transistor into the emitter of the PNP transistor. The collector of the PNP transistor taps into the inductor of the parallel LC circuit such that the inductor is driven to resonance.

A source of bias signal is included for selectively providing a bias signal embodied in one of two bias level states, and a switchable active device circuit is connected to the output of the power amplifier means, to the coupling means and to the source of bias signal, the switchable active device which may be a PIN diode or a GaAs FET is being responsive to the bias signal in a first one of the two bias level states for switching to a non-conducting condition and thereby providing a low signal coupling mode for the coupling means, and the switchable active device circuit is responsive to the bias signal in a second one of the two bias level states for switching to a conducting condition and thereby providing a high signal coupling mode for the coupling means.
