    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display panel and a drive circuit. A transistor provided in a pixel portion or a peripheral portion of the display panel includes a semiconductor layer having a first end and a second end, first and second gate electrodes overlapping the semiconductor layer, a source electrode connected to the first end, and a drain electrode connected to the second end. The first and second gate electrodes are disposed in a first layer. The source electrode and the drain electrode are disposed in a second layer. The source electrode is formed to cover at least a first channel region in planar view. The drain electrode is formed to cover at least a second channel region in planar view.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display section in which a plurality of pixels are arrayed in a matrix, a plurality of scan lines which select pixels, a plurality of signal lines which supply image signals to the selected pixels, and color filters that are arranged so as to correspond to color displays of the pixels. In the device, the display section includes an effective pixel portion and a frame portion that surrounds the effective pixel portion, and the frame portion and a wiring circuit of the effective pixel portion are covered with light-shielding layers, the light-shielding layers being separated from each other at a certain separation location in the display section, and a plurality of color filters having different colors are arranged by being stacked at the separation location.

The sensor includes a plurality of detection electrodes disposed in a matrix, the detection electrodes being mutually electrically independently provided above the display surface and being configured to detect a variation in electrostatic capacitance, and a plurality of lead lines provided above the display surface, connected to the detection electrodes in a one-to-one correspondence, and formed of a metal.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a polarization conversion element includes a first substrate including a first plane electrode and a first control electrode, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer. The first control electrode comprises a first strip electrode, a second strip electrode, a third strip electrode, and a first common electrode. The first strip electrode and the first common electrode are orthogonal to each other, respective extension directions of the first to third strip electrodes are different from each other, and an angle formed by the first strip electrode and the third strip electrode is greater than an angle formed by the first strip electrode and the second strip electrode.

    Abstract: A touch panel, a display panel, and a display unit achieving prevention of erroneous detection caused by external noise. The touch panel includes: a plurality of detection scan electrodes extending in a first direction and a plurality of detection electrodes facing the plurality of detection scan electrodes and extending in a second direction which intersects the first direction. A ratio of fringe capacitance to total capacitance between one or more selected detection scan electrodes and a first detection electrode is different from a ratio of fringe capacitance to total capacitance between the one or more selected detection scan electrodes and a second detection electrode. The one or more selected detection scan electrodes are selected, in a desired unit, from the plurality of detection scan electrodes, to be supplied with a selection pulse, and each of the first and the second detection electrodes is selected from the plurality of detection electrodes.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a semiconductor substrate includes a first basement, a gate line, a source line, an insulating film, a first pixel electrode, and a first transistor and a second transistor connected parallel at positions between the source line and the first pixel electrode. Each of a first semiconductor layer of the first transistor and a second semiconductor layer of the second transistor includes a first region, a second region, and a channel region. The first semiconductor layer and the second semiconductor layer are in contact with a first surface that is a surface of the insulating film on the source line side. The channel region of each of the first semiconductor layer and the second semiconductor layer wholly overlaps the gate line.
