    Abstract: A tile extrusion machine comprises an endless loop conveyor which carries the pallets through the extrusion apparatus at a constant speed.     Abstract: A series of work arms are pivotally mounted on a chain drive and each has a pair of vertically spaced flanged wheels which roll against vertical track elements to hold the work arm erect as it lifts or lowers a load carried by a supporting cradle offset relative to the center of the work arm. Upper transverse track elements guide the upper wheel as it passes from one side of the chain drive to the other. To prevent the upper wheel, for example, from slipping back the wrong way during the crossover, a stop is located on each side of the center in positions where they will engage respective cradles so that, should the work arm tend to tilt too far from a vertical orientation, it will be prevented from doing so by engagement of one or the other cradle with its respective stop.

    Abstract: A chuck for handling and manipulating glass containers in a container production line. The chuck includes a container seat formed to receive and center the bottom of a glass container between three or more symmetrically disposed clamping arms mounted upon the seat assembly to cooperate with the seat in holding the container in position on the chuck. The seat assembly is mounted for rotation in a chuck housing about an axis which is coincident with the axis of a container held on the seat. The housing is adapted to be carried upon an endless chain so that a series of chucks can be linked together in series and driven in succession past work stations at which various operations are performed on the containers. An operating lever carried by the housing projects to one side of the path of travel of the chucks and is engageable with stationary cams at selected points along the path to open or close the chuck to enable the chuck to receive or discharge containers. A sprocket mounted on the seat assembly is engageable with chains extending along the path of travel of the chucks to drive the chucks in rotation during their transit of selected portions of their path of movement.
