Abstract:
An accessory system for a vehicle includes a bracket configured for adhesive attachment at an in-cabin surface of the vehicle windshield. The bracket includes an attaching portion having an aperture therethrough and includes a pair of attaching arms extending from the attaching portion. An interior rearview mirror assembly has a mounting base that is attached at the attaching portion of the bracket with the bracket adhesively attached at the windshield. With the mounting base attached at the attaching portion, a rain sensor is disposed at the in-cabin surface of the windshield and the aperture of the attaching portion circumscribes the rain sensor. With the bracket adhesively attached at the windshield, a forward camera module is attached at the attaching arms of the bracket and generally at the in-cabin surface of the windshield so that an imager of the forward camera module has a field of view through the windshield.
Abstract:
A door handle assembly for a door of a vehicle, with the door handle assembly configured to mount at a handle region of a vehicle door, includes an antenna circuit for an antenna of a passive entry system of the vehicle. The antenna circuit includes at least an inductor in series electrical connection with a capacitor. The antenna circuit includes a resistor in electrical connection with the inductor and the capacitor. The resistor is selected to provide a selected reduction of a quality factor or Q factor of the antenna circuit to a reduced level.
Abstract:
A rearview vision system for a vehicle includes a reflective element disposed at a driver or passenger side portion of a vehicle and a camera disposed at or near the reflective element and having a field of view that encompasses at least a portion of the reflective element. The camera and the reflective element are disposed at the side portion of the vehicle so that images of the scene occurring to the side and rear of the vehicle are reflected off of the reflective element and viewed by the camera. The camera captures image data for display of images by a display device that is viewable by a driver of the vehicle when normally operating the vehicle so as to provide the driver with a generally sideward and rearward field of view.
Abstract:
A vision system for a vehicle includes an exterior rearview mirror assembly mounted at an exterior portion of a door of a vehicle, an imaging sensor having a field of view exterior the vehicle and a video display screen operable to display video images captured by the imaging sensor. The video display screen is disposed at an interior portion of the vehicle door at which the exterior rearview mirror assembly is mounted. The exterior rearview mirror assembly and the video display screen may be part of a mirror and display module that is mountable at the vehicle door as a unit. The camera may be disposed at the exterior rearview mirror assembly.
Abstract:
An exterior rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a principal reflective element, a wide angle auxiliary reflective element and a back plate. The principal reflective element is disposed at a principal reflective element region of the back plate and has a cutout at a corner region thereof. The wide angle auxiliary reflective element is disposed at the auxiliary reflective element region of the back plate and is adjacent to the principal reflective element at the corner region of the principal reflective element. A single heater pad is disposed between the principal reflective element and the principal reflective element region of the back plate and between the wide angle auxiliary reflective element and the auxiliary reflective element region of the back plate. When powered, the single heater pad heats the principal reflective element and the wide angle auxiliary reflective element.
Abstract:
A door handle assembly for a door of a vehicle includes a handle portion and an illumination module. The handle portion is disposed at the vehicle door and movable to actuate a locking mechanism of the vehicle door to open the vehicle door. The illumination module includes at least one illumination source and an icon element and a cover element. The illumination source, when operated, backlights the icon element so that an icon of the icon element is viewable through the cover element at an exterior surface of the handle portion. The icon element includes a security icon and the illumination module is operable to backlight the security icon when a security system of the vehicle is operational.
Abstract:
A vehicular window assembly includes a frame, a fixed window panel bonded to a lower frame portion and a movable window assembly. The side frame members of the movable window include upper and lower guide elements that are slidably received in respective channels along opposite portions of the frame. The channels are configured to move the movable window along the fixed window panel when the movable window assembly is at least partially opened and to move the movable window to a position where the movable window panel is generally coplanar with the fixed window panel when the movable window assembly is closed. When the movable window is in its closed position, a seal sealingly engages an inboard surface of the side frame members and an inboard surface of the upper frame member and an inboard portion of an upper perimeter region of the fixed window panel.
Abstract:
A cover assembly for an appliance includes a glass panel having an outer surface and an inner surface. The glass panel has a side perimeter edge about a periphery of the glass panel and extending between the inner surface and a rounded outer perimeter edge of the glass panel. The rounded outer perimeter edge of the glass panel is exposed when the cover assembly is normally mounted at an appliance. The rounded outer perimeter edge of the glass panel comprises a rounded surface established between the outer surface and the side perimeter edge. At least one attachment element is configured for engaging a corresponding structure of the appliance when the cover assembly is disposed at the appliance.
Abstract:
An interior rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a mirror reflective element having at least one transparent or glass substrate and a mirror reflector established at a surface of the at least one transparent or glass substrate. A mirror backplate is disposed to the rear of the mirror reflective element. A mounting base is configured for attachment at an interior portion of a vehicle. The mounting base includes a ball member. A socket element is formed separate from the mirror backplate and the mounting base. The socket element is attachable at the mirror backplate and is configured to pivotally attach to the ball member of the mounting base. With the socket element attached at the mirror backplate, the socket element pivotally attaches to the ball member to pivotally mount the mirror backplate and the mirror reflective element at the mounting base.
Abstract:
A mirror reflective element sub-assembly includes a mirror reflective element and a mirror back plate. The back plate has an indicator mounting portion. An aperture is established through the back plate generally at the indicator mounting portion. A heater pad is disposed between the mirror reflective element and the back plate. The heater pad has a light transmitting portion generally aligned with the aperture of the back plate. A self-contained substantially sealed indicator is mounted at the indicator mounting portion and has a light source that is activatable to emit light. When an equipped exterior rearview mirror assembly is mounted at a side of a vehicle and with the light source activated, light emitted by the light source transmits through the aperture of the back plate and the light transmitting portion of the heater pad and exits the mirror reflective element.
