Abstract: Provided is a method for constructing a hybrid automatic repeat request—acknowledge character (HARQ-ACK) codebook, performed at a user equipment (UE), comprising: generating HARQ-ACK information for at least one unicast downlink channel and HARQ-ACK information for at least one group-common downlink channel; and constructing the HARQ-ACK codebook based on the HARQ-ACK information for the at least one unicast downlink channel and the HARQ-ACK information for the at least one group-common downlink channel, wherein each group-common downlink channel associates with a MBS service.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for differentiating between licensed and unlicensed bands in a common portion of frequency spectrum to facilitate initial access in a fifth generation (5G) new radio (NR) wireless communication system having an NR node. The techniques include an NR generating and UE processing frequency configuration information indicating whether the common portion of frequency spectrum is allocated as a licensed band or an unlicensed band to enable a determination that the frequency spectrum is configured as the licensed band or unlicensed band and thereby facilitate initial access.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for signaling a quasi-colocation (QCL) update in a wireless communication system. A network or base station may indicate to a UE to change a spatial relationship for transmission/reception. The base station may provide aperiodic reference signals for the UE to use in beam tracking according to the new spatial relationship. Optionally, the base station may also provide aperiodic reference signals for time, frequency, and/or phase tracking. Thus, the network may configure the UE to change to the new spatial relationship and use the aperiodic reference signals to quickly complete initial tracking operations.

Abstract: Performing a UE-triggered lower layer-based handover may include, based on measurements associated with both a source gNB and a target gNB, determining that a UE-triggered handover utilizing layer 1 or layer 2 is to be performed. First uplink resources configured by the source gNB for a dedicated scheduling request may be determined. The dedicated scheduling request may be generated at the UE to request second uplink resources from the gNB for a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) a handover request in a media access control (MAC) control element (CE). The handover request carried by the MAC CE for the source gNB may be generated. In response to the handover request, a handover command from the source gNB associated with performing a handover procedure from the source gNB to the target gNB may be processed.

The UE may establish communication with a base station. The UE may determine one or more beams to perform downlink communication from the base station. The UE may receive, from the base station, an indication of a first type of downlink reference signals to perform beam failure detection. The UE may perform signal quality measurements for the one or more beams using the first type of downlink reference signals. The UE may determine beam failure of at least one beam of the one or more beams based on said performing signal quality measurements.

Abstract: A wireless user equipment (UE) device may transmit a random access preamble to a base station, using a physical resource on an uplink signal. After failing to receive an initial transmission of a response message from the base station (BS), the UE device may monitor for one or more retransmissions of the response message. Each of the retransmission may include a corresponding transmission number. As an alternative, each of the retransmissions may be at least partially scrambled using a corresponding Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI). As another alternative, a window for monitoring and RNTI calculation may be extended to include the one or more retransmissions. The successive retransmissions may include the same set of UE-specific payloads, or, a decreasing set of payloads over time as UE devices acknowledge successful receipt of their respective payloads.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may perform sounding reference signal (SRS) switching by transmitting one or more SRS using a plurality of SRS resources of an SRS resource set configured for SRS switching according to a first combination of downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) antenna ports. For UE power saving, the UE may turn off one or more of the DL and UL antenna ports. The UE may then reconfigure the plurality of SRS resources of the SRS resource set for SRS switching according to a second combination of the DL and UL antenna ports. In response to a power saving message from a UE, a base station may generate SRS configuration information to configure an SRS resource set for SRS antenna switching based on a combination of active DL and UL antenna ports at the UE, and send the SRS configuration information to the UE.
