Abstract: In at least one embodiment, a user equipment (UE) may receive a control signal from a base station to update a target pathloss reference signal from an existing pathloss reference signal. In at least one embodiment, the UE may obtain a plurality of samples of the target pathloss reference signal. In at least one embodiment, the UE may determine, based on obtaining the plurality of samples of the target pathloss reference signal, that the UE is unable to update the target pathloss reference signal. In at least one embodiment, the UE may adjust the uplink transmission power of the UE based on the existing pathloss reference signal or to a maximum transmit power based on said determining that the UE is unable to be updated to the target pathloss reference signal.

Abstract: Techniques discussed herein facilitate generation of uplink control information for Enhanced Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) Format(s) (EPF(s)). One example embodiment employable in a User Equipment (UE) is configured to: determine Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest-Acknowledgment (HARQ-ACK) information; generate a PUCCH for a BandWidth Part (BWP) based at least in part on the HARQ-ACK information, wherein the PUCCH has an EPF; determine a PUCCH resource for the PUCCH and a first PRB index for the PUCCH, wherein the PUCCH resource is determined based at least in part on an index of a first Control Channel Element (CCE) of an associated Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) and a number of CCEs in a Control Resource Set (CORESET) of the associated PDCCH; and map the PUCCH to at least one PUCCH interlace based on the PUCCH resource and the first PRB index for the PUCCH.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed relate to apparatuses, systems, and methods for improved handling of phase noise (PN) in millimeter wave (MMW or mmWave) communications in a wireless communication system, such as 5G NR. When severe phase noise is present in a communication link, the link performance can be substantially degraded. Thus, it would be desirable to utilize techniques to compensate for phase noise in mmWave communications. In Rel-15, a Phase Tracking Reference Signal (PT-RS or PTRS) was specified for both downlink and uplink communications, specifically for Cyclic Prefix-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (CP-OFDM) and Discrete Fourier Transform spread Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (DFT-S-OFDM). However, prior art approaches to PTRS using block-based pilot allocation schemes required complicated receiver processing. Thus, the techniques disclosed herein attempt to embed one or multiple bands with DFT-S-OFDM PTRS design in the data allocation bandwidth of an OFDM transmission to improve handling of PN at sub-OFDM symbol time intervals.

Abstract: A method and apparatus of a device that switches bandwidth parts for a user equipment device and a base station is described. In an exemplary embodiment, the device receives an indication to switch to the bandwidth part for the user equipment on the wireless link from the base station. In addition, the device switches to the new bandwidth part for the user equipment. The device further signals that the switching to the new bandwidth part has occurred in a time period smaller than a predefined time period. The deice additionally communicates information on the wireless link using the new bandwidth part.
