Abstract: A system and method for using both video and periodically refreshed images in a video surveillance system is described herein the method comprising receiving a first request from a first device at a first camera for a first video stream generated by the first camera to be transmitted using a first communication path; beginning the process of establishing the first communications path from the first camera to the first device; establishing second communications path from the first camera to the first device while the first communications path is being established, wherein the second communications path can be used to transmit a plurality of periodically refreshed images while the first communications path is being established; transmitting the plurality of periodically refreshed images from the first camera to the first device using the second communications path while the first communications path is being established; and transmitting the first video stream from the first camera to the first device using the first communications path once it has been established, and then shutting down the transmission of the plurality of periodically refreshed images using the second communications path.

Abstract: An audio processing device for use in a network connected audio conferencing system is provided, comprising: a network microphone array comprising two or more microphones (mics) and a beamforming circuit, wherein the network mic array is adapted to acquire acoustic audio signals, convert the same to electric audio signals, perform audio beamforming on the electric audio signals, and output a digital combined beamforming circuit output signal that comprises a first signal part and a second signal part, and wherein the first signal part comprises a first set of digital bits that comprises an active beam index, and wherein the active beam index encodes a selected beam position out of a possible N beam positions, and wherein the second signal part comprises a second set of digital bits that comprises a beamformed audio signal; a receiver adapted to receive the digital combined beamforming circuit output signal and split the same into the first signal part and the second signal part; a plurality of acoustic echo cancellation filter devices, each of which are adapted to receive the second signal part and a far end reference audio signal from a far end audio processing device, and perform acoustic echo cancellation on the beamformed audio signal in view of the far end audio signal; and an AEC filter circuit controller adapted to receive the first signal part, decipher the active beam index encoded in the first beamformed audio signal part to determine which of the N beam positions is active, and select a corresponding one of the plurality of acoustic echo cancellation filter devices based on the active one of N beam positions to generate an output audio signal from the audio processing device to be transmitted to the far end audio processing device.

Abstract: A circuit adapted to detect applied voltage and/or voltage based conditions. The circuit comprises a zero-cross detection circuit and a controller. The zero-cross detection circuit is adapted to output a zero-cross signal comprising zero-cross events based on an applied alternating current power signal. The controller is adapted to store a relationship between a pulse width delta, frequency, and voltage. The controller is adapted to sense the zero-cross signal from the zero-cross detection circuit to determine its frequency and pulse width delta by calculating a difference between a high-time and a low-time of the zero-cross signal, and determine the applied voltage based on the stored relationship. The controller can adjust at least one setting of the circuit based on the determined applied voltage, such as the timing of a dimming circuit. In another embodiment, the controller may directly detect voltage based conditions, such as zero-cross delays a dimmer circuit. The controller is adapted store a relationship between a pulse width delta and zero-cross signal delay. The controller is adapted to receive the zero-cross signal from the zero-cross detection circuit, determine a pulse width delta, and determine a zero-cross delay based on the determined pulse width delta and the stored relationship.

Abstract: A roller shade for adjustably covering a structural opening comprising a roller tube assembly having a roller tube, a shade material attached to the roller tube, and a pair of cables adapted to be wound about opposite ends of the roller tube. The roller shade further comprises a pair of longitudinal side panel assemblies adapted to be attached at opposite sides of the structural opening and retain the roller tube assembly therebetween, wherein each side panel assembly comprises a tensioning assembly adapted to tension the shade material. Each tensioning assembly comprises a fixed pulley bracket comprising a first and second pulleys, floating pulley bracket comprising a third pulley, a tension assist bracket removably attached to and between the fixed pulley bracket and the floating pulley bracket, and a spring attached at one end to the floating pulley bracket. The tension assist bracket is adapted to keep the floating pulley bracket fixed during installation and is adapted to be removed after the side panel assemblies are attached at the structural opening and the pair of cables are looped through the first, second, and third pulleys of respective tensioning assemblies and attached to a free end of the shade material.
