    Abstract: An exhaust sensor includes a sensing element with a ceramic sensing element substrate and a sensing element terminal which is electrically conductive and which is supported by the ceramic sensing element substrate such that the sensing element is configured to sense constituents of exhaust gases when exposed thereto. The exhaust sensor also includes a mating terminal which is electrically conductive and which is in electrical communication with the sensing element terminal. The mating terminal has a base material and a clad material bonded to the base material such that the clad material contacts the sensing element terminal and such that the clad material is located between the sensing element terminal and the base material, thereby providing the electrical communication. The clad material is an alloy which is less than or equal to 20% iron, greater than or equal to 40% nickel, and greater than or equal to 13% chromium.

    Abstract: A fuel pump includes a fuel pump housing with a pumping chamber and an outlet valve bore extending along an outlet valve bore axis; a pumping plunger which reciprocates within a plunger bore along a plunger bore axis which is traverse to the outlet valve bore axis; and an outlet valve assembly. The outlet valve assembly includes an outlet valve seat with an outlet flow passage, wherein a first portion of the outlet valve seat is aligned with the pumping plunger in a direction parallel to the plunger bore axis and wherein a second portion of the outlet valve seat is not aligned with the pumping plunger in a direction parallel to the plunger bore axis and an outlet valve member which is moveable between an unseated position which provides fluid communication through the outlet flow passage and a seated position which prevents fluid communication through the outlet flow passage.

    Abstract: A fuel pressure regulator includes a fuel inlet; a fuel outlet; a seating surface; and a valve member assembly. The valve member assembly includes a poppet and also includes a sealing member which is made of an elastomer material and which is annular in shape and including a sealing member surface. The sealing member is supported by the poppet. The valve member assembly is moveable between 1) a closed position in which the sealing member surface engages the seating surface, thereby preventing fuel flow from the fuel inlet to the fuel outlet and 2) an open position in which the sealing member surface is spaced apart from the seating surface, thereby allowing fuel flow from the fuel inlet to the fuel outlet.

    Abstract: An outlet valve includes an outlet valve housing with an outlet valve bore including an outlet valve seating surface. The outlet valve also includes an outlet valve member which moves within the outlet valve bore second portion between a closed position and an open position. A surface of the outlet valve bore guides the outlet valve member during movement between the closed position and the open position. The surface of the outlet valve bore and the outlet valve seating surface are provided on a continuous piece of material of the outlet valve housing. An outlet valve spring biases the outlet valve member toward the closed position and a retainer is fixed to the outlet valve housing which grounds the outlet valve spring to the outlet valve housing.

    Abstract: A CAN transceiver includes a first terminal which receives a transmit signal from a CAN microcontroller. A splitter unit transmits a signal derived from the transmit signal to a CAN bus a via bus connection. A unit receives signals from the CAN bus via the bus connection. A second terminal sends a receive signal derived from the received signals to the CAN microcontroller. The transmit and receive signals include a pulsed signal waveform which represents data bits. Delay circuits apply a deliberate delay to the rising or falling edge of pulses of the transmit signal and/or a deliberate delay to the rising or falling edge of pulses of the receive signal.

    Abstract: A gear train includes a housing, a gear, a shaft, a needle bearing, and a stop shim. The housing includes an end face traversing an axis and a cylindrical surface centered to the axis. The face and the surface define a bore. The gear is disposed in the housing, and is adapted to rotate about the axis. The shaft is engaged to, and projects axially from, the gear. The shaft includes an end portion disposed in the bore. The needle bearing is seated in the bore, and is disposed radially between the surface and the end portion. The stop shim is disposed axially between the end face and the end portion for limiting axial displacement of the gear shaft. The stop shim is made of a material that is harder than a material of the housing.

    Abstract: A fluid injector includes a fluid inlet; a valve seat located downstream of the fluid inlet and having a valve seat aperture extending therethrough; a valve member moveable between a closed position and an open position to control flow through the valve seat aperture; and director plate including a first aperture and a second aperture extending therethrough. A fluid flow channel is formed between the valve seat and the director plate and extends from an inlet end to an outlet end. The first aperture and the second aperture extend through the director plate from the fluid flow channel. The first aperture is located between the inlet end and the second aperture. The fluid flow channel decreases in cross-sectional area from the inlet end toward the first aperture and the fluid flow channel increases in cross-sectional area from the first aperture toward the second aperture.
