    摘要: A speaker device comprising an electrostatic emitter film which is responsive to an applied variable voltage to emit sonic output based on a desired sonic signal, used in combination with at least a first foam member having a forward face, an intermediate core section and a rear face. The forward face is composed of a composition having sufficient stiffness to support the electrostatic film and includes conductive properties which enable application of a variable voltage to supply the desired sonic signal. The surface of the forward face includes small cavities having surrounding wall structure defining each cavity which terminates at contacting edges approximately coincident with the forward face of the foam member. The film is applied to the forward face of the foam member and biased in direct contact with the contacting edges of the forward face.

    摘要: An electrostatic transducer having respective first and second stators, each having an interior surface, which are displaced and juxtaposed, and including a flexible diaphragm leaving a conductive layer and being operable as an electrostatic emitter. The diaphragm includes an emitter portion which is interposed between the respective interior surfaces of the first and second stators and is configured as a nonplanar film characterized by a continuous array of peaks and valleys. The emitter portion of the diaphragm is positioned adjacent, but substantially unattached to the respective interior surfaces of the first and second stators. The peaks of the emitter portion of the diaphragm may contact the interior surfaces, or may be displaced therefrom. Also disclosed is a method for generating audio output from an electrostatic transducer utilizing a nonplanar emitter portion of a flexible, film diaphragm.

    摘要: An ultrasonic emitter device having broad frequency range capacity with relatively large diaphragm displacement compared to typical electrostatic diaphragm movement. The device includes a core member able to establish a first magnetic field adjacent the core member and a movable diaphragm stretched along the core member and displaced a short separation distance within a strong portion of the magnetic field. At least one, low mass, planar, conductive coil is disposed on the movable diaphragm and includes first and second contacts for enabling current flow through the coil. A variable current flow to the at least one coil provides a second magnetic field which variably interacts with the first magnetic field to attract and repel the diaphragm at a desired frequency for development of a series of compression waves which may be adjusted to include an ultrasonic frequency range.

    摘要: The present invention is embodied in a method and apparatus for eliminating audio feedback which includes an active microphone coupled to an amplifier which transmits signals received at the active microphone to a parametric speaker for broadcasting. The apparatus comprises at least one transducer for detecting at least one sonic frequency and generating an electrical signal representative of the at least one sonic frequency, a processor for receiving the electrical signal and generating a first ultrasonic frequency which has modulated thereon the at least one sonic frequency, a parametric demodulator for recovering the at least one sonic frequency from the first ultrasonic frequency, and a speaker for directly emitting the at least one sonic frequency.

    摘要: A radio frequency receiving device which is totally self contained and is fully supported at a diverging opening of a user's ear extending from the ear canal. The device includes an elongate casement having a lower portion and an upper portion at a total length of less than two inches. The casement is constructed of a top portion and a bottom portion, the top portion being deflected from the bottom portion by an acute angle whose value is between the range of 10 to 30 degrees. The bottom portion includes a speaker device mounted at a proximal side thereof and being configured to frictionally fit at the diverging ear opening in close proximity to the skull, with the upper half resting against the ear or being in frictional contact with an upper lip of the ear extending from the top cartilage. The device includes a printed circuit board contained within the casement, a battery compartment, on/off power and volume switches and a tuning circuit for providing selection of desired frequency. The total structure is housed within the casement and weighs less than 2.5 ounces.

    摘要: A phonograph record-playing mechanism having a pickup head supported for relative movement on a tone arm which remains fixed during record play in combination with selectively operable mechanism for moving the arm and head into and out of recordplaying position. A cam and lever system causes all of the necessary movements to rotate the arm into and away from recordplaying position as well as for tilting the head assembly into and away from record-playing position relative to the arm. A pause control lever serves to disengage the needle from a record so that a person can interrupt the playing of a record at one instant in time and then at a later time reengage the needle with the exact groove from which it was previously disengaged. A single pushbutton switch controls an electric circuit in a manner which initiates the playing of a record and also serves to control a reject cycle. The apparatus is usable for playing records of different diameters.
