Abstract: An expansion tank for a cooling system of a motor vehicle has an inlet mouth and is provided with a shell in plastic material having a wall which defines a cavity for containing a coolant liquid; the shell has, in addition, a projecting collar, at the inlet mouth, and a first inner tubular wall, which protrudes downwards into the cavity and defines a passage with a lower outlet opening, to make the coolant liquid flow into the cavity; the shell has, in addition, a second tubular wall, projecting upwards into the cavity and defining a compartment which is vertically aligned with the passage and has an upper overflow opening vertically arranged at a height that is equal to or greater than that of the outlet opening.

Abstract: A foot-rest structure for the driving side of the floor of a motor vehicle comprises a foot-rest support, secured to the floor panel of the motor vehicle, a covering element mounted on the foot-rest support, and a lateral trim panel having a front edge connected to the covering element. The foot-rest support is constituted by a three-dimensional body made of plastic material, defining a three-dimensional volume projecting from the floor panel, adjacent to the lateral trim panel, and having an inclined front surface, a top surface, and at least one lateral surface, which faces the inside of the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle. The covering element is constituted by a body made of plastic material, which is arranged over the foot-rest support and has an inclined front wall arranged over the inclined front surface of the foot-rest support and defining a foot-rest surface, and a top wall and a side wall arranged over the top surface and the at least one lateral surface, respectively, of the foot-rest support. The covering element and the foot-rest support are provided with engagement elements and seats cooperating with the engagement elements for their mutual rigid connection. The front edge of the lateral trim panel is connected only to the covering element, without any direct connection to the foot-rest support. The covering element has the inclined front wall that, on a side edge thereof facing the lateral trim panel, forms a channel in which the front edge of the lateral trim panel is received, the front edge of the lateral trim panel and the channel having engagement elements and seats cooperating with the engagement elements for rigid connection of the lateral trim panel to the covering element.

Abstract: A safety device is described which is configured to orient a motor-vehicle front wheel transversely to the travel direction, following a collision of the motor-vehicle against a barrier. The device includes a ram member carried by a plate projecting laterally in a cantilever fashion from the motor-vehicle structure forwardly of the front wheel. The ram member is pushed against the front wheel following a collision of the motor-vehicle against the barrier. The ram member has a vertically elongated front portion, for engaging the wheel. With the transverse plate carrying the ram member there is associated a bumper structure located forwardly of the transverse plate and including a bumper element projecting forwardly from the transverse plate, at an intermediate position between the ram member and a connected end of the transverse plate.

Abstract: A motor-vehicle wheel suspension includes a lower oscillating arm, a damper unit, an upper oscillating rod and a vertical articulated rod. The suspension includes a toe control oscillating rod having an inner end pivotally connected to a supporting structure and an outer end pivotally connected to a wheel support. An articulation of the outer end of the toe control rod to the wheel support and the upper end of the vertical rod includes an articulation axle connected to the vertical rod. An eccentric cylindrical member is rotatably mounted on the articulation axle within a cylindrical cavity in the support and has an axis eccentric relative to the articulation axle. The articulation axle is connected to an adjustment ring, whose rotation determines a variation in the position of the wheel support and a resulting variation of the wheel toe angle.

Abstract: A vehicle suspension system of the MacPherson type includes a pair of wheel supports, and two shock absorbers each having a body bolted to a corresponding wheel support with a top end connected to structure of the vehicle. A leaf spring is set transverse to a longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and has a central portion connected to the vehicle structure, and two ends connected to the respective wheel supports. The leaf spring is made of a single piece having opposite ends each having a forked shape, with two prongs made of a single piece with the leaf spring, wherein each prong is connected separately to the corresponding wheel support. The suspension system does not include other connection elements between each wheel support and the vehicle structure so that suspension components can be assembled on the leaf spring prior to installation on the vehicle structure.
