Abstract: A backup power supply device to be connected to a conduction path from an external power supply to an external load includes a plurality of secondary batteries connected in parallel, a plurality of charging switches that can individually pass and cut off charging power from the conduction path to the plurality of secondary batteries, and a control device for performing discharging control on the plurality of secondary batteries when the power supply voltage of the conduction path drops below a predetermined power failure detection threshold value. When battery voltages of the plurality of secondary batteries drop below a predetermined charging start threshold value, the control device performs charging control with a time difference set between charging start timings of the secondary batteries.

Abstract: A solid-state battery includes a solid-state battery body and a coating film. The solid-state battery body has an electrolyte layer containing a solid electrolyte, a positive electrode layer formed on a part of a first principal plane of the electrolyte layer, and a negative electrode layer formed on a part of a second principal plane of the electrolyte layer opposite to the first principal plane. The coating film has an insulating property and covers the solid-state battery body so as to expose a first portion of the positive electrode layer and a second portion of the negative electrode layer. The coating film has hardness higher than that of solid electrolytes contained in the solid-state battery body.

Abstract: A charging method for supplementarily charging a plurality of secondary batteries accommodated in a casing on a regular basis includes the steps of: charging the plurality of secondary batteries at the same time at the time of initial supplementary charging; acquiring each of peak temperatures during charging of the plurality of secondary batteries; listing combination patterns when the plurality of secondary batteries are split into a plurality of charging groups; predicting, for each of the combination patterns, each of the peak temperatures in a case in which charging is performed for each of the charging groups, on the basis of the peak temperatures at the time of the initial supplementary charging; and split-charging the plurality of secondary batteries in the combination pattern that minimizes a variation in the predicted peak temperatures.
