Systems, methods, and devices of various aspects include using high hydroxide concentration electrolyte in an electrochemical system, such as a battery. In some aspects, a high hydroxide concentration electrolyte may increase the stored amount of charge stored in the cell (i.e., the capacity of the battery material) and/or decrease the overpotential (i.e., increase the voltage) of the battery.

The aqueous zinc-ion battery has a cathode material of the aqueous zinc-ion battery of the embodiment of the present disclosure, which has a specific ratio of specific cathode material. At a specific current density (50 mA/g), an electrochemical capacity of the aqueous zinc-ion battery can reach about 500 mAh/g, and a capacity can reach 200 mAh/g at a current density of 20 A/g.

摘要: Provided is an alkali metal cell comprising: (a) a quasi-solid cathode containing about 30% to about 95% by volume of a cathode active material, about 5% to about 40% by volume of a first electrolyte containing an alkali salt dissolved in a solvent, and about 0.01% to about 30% by volume of a conductive additive wherein the conductive additive, containing conductive filaments, forms a 3D network of electron-conducting pathways such that the quasi-solid electrode has an electrical conductivity from about 10−6 S/cm to about 300 S/cm; (b) an anode; and (c) an ion-conducting membrane or porous separator disposed between the anode and the quasi-solid cathode; wherein the quasi-solid cathode has a thickness from 200 m to 100 cm and a cathode active material having an active material mass loading greater than 10 mg/cm2.

The alkaline secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The positive electrode contains a silver oxide. The negative electrode contains zinc-based particles selected from the group consisting of zinc particles and zinc alloy particles. The separator holds an alkaline electrolyte solution. An anion conductive membrane is disposed between the negative electrode and the separator. The anion conductive membrane includes a polymer as a matrix and particles of at least one metal compound selected from the group consisting of metal oxides, metal hydroxides, metal carbonates, metal sulfates, metal phosphates, metal borates, and metal silicates, which are dispersed in the matrix.
