    Abstract: The present invention concerns a method of treating rheumatoid arthritis by diagnosing that a person is in need of treatment for rheumatoid arthritis and administering a therapeutically effective amount of a ligand which modulates NF-kB transcription factor by interaction with estrogen receptor ER-α, estrogen receptor ER-β, or both ER-α and ER-β estrogen receptors with a substantial absence of creatine kinase stimulation.     Abstract: Apparatus for handling biological sample containers comprises a conveyor assembly for conveying containers and a lid handing assembly operable to remove lids from and replace lids onto containers while the containers are in motion on the conveyor assembly. The lid handling assembly comprises a pair of ramps onto which a lid is lifted by a lifting mechanism configured to handle overhanging lids or non-overhanging lids as required. The lid handling assembly may be configured to handle lids of containers of various sizes by altering the ramp spacing. A conveyor assembly comprises a pair of converging rails which carry a pair of jaws operable to carry a container. The convergence of the rails rakes the jaws clamp the container so that it is held tightly in position for micro-arraying to be cared out. The conveyor assembly may be adapted to handle different sizes of container by the provision of holders to hold various container types.

    Abstract: A method allowing for the inexpensive automated construction of interconnections between circuit boards is provided. According to the present invention, printed circuit pins are inserted in a circuit board from the top (component side). Provided the heads of the pins are thin enough to lie beneath a solder stencil, the pins may be pre-installed on the circuit board and solder applied to the pins at the same time solder is applied to other regions of the board. Thus, known surface mount techniques may be employed to form solder connections between the pins and conductive traces on the circuit board, which facilitates the automation of the previously manual operation of soldering the printed circuit pins separately.

    Abstract: A polymer composition is provided including copolymer particles bearing phosphorus acid groups dispersed in an aqueous medium, wherein the polymer composition is substantially-free of water soluble phosphorus acid compounds. Also provided is a monomer composition containing at least one phosphorus acid monomer and a method of preparing the polymer composition from the monomer composition. The monomer composition is substantially-free of inorganic phosphorus acid compounds. A method is provided for applying the polymer composition to a substrate. The polymer composition is useful as a coating composition to prepare coatings for metal substrates, which have improved solvent resistance.
