摘要: To improve particle capturing performance and classification filtering capacity of a cylindrical filter. A cylindrical filter includes a hollow cylindrical filter body configured by suitably combining a plurality of cylindrical first filter sections having mutually different inner diameters, each first filter section including a glass fiber as a major component, and a plurality of cylindrical second filter sections having mutually different inner diameters, each second filter section including a resin fiber as a major component, with each other. The first filter sections and the second filter sections are disposed in a concentrically superimposed manner and alternately arranged in a radial direction relative to each other. The cylindrical filter further includes a pair of seal members fixedly provided on the opposite axial ends of the first and second filter sections.

摘要: In a ball end mill, cutting can be carried out with high precision, and abrasion or breakage of the cutting blade can be reduced. The ball end mill is provided with a cutting blade section having a cutting blade, which is U-shaped in front view, at the end section of a shank. The cutting blade is provided on a flat surface deviated by a predetermined distance from the shank axis, and comprises blade faces having rake faces, which become negative angles at the time of cutting. In cross-section intersecting the cutting blade, all the blade faces have the same shape.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention reduce the noise occurring when the lubricating layer on the magnetic disk is smoothed. In one embodiment, a magnetic disk drive has a read/write mode parameter table for generating an electric current to be supplied to a voice coil motor when the magnetic head performs data read/write operations on the magnetic disk. The magnetic disk drive also has a smoothing mode parameter table for generating another electric current to be supplied to the voice coil motor when neither a data read nor a write operation is performed on the magnetic disk. The CPU refers to either the read/write mode parameter table or the smoothing mode parameter table and controls the electric current to be supplied to the voice coil motor. When a lubricating-layer smoothing event occurs, the CPU refers to the smoothing mode parameter table and after generating the associated electric current to be supplied to the voice coil motor, moves the magnetic head to seek between the outermost and innermost tracks on the surface of the magnetic disk to perform a smoothing process for the lubricating layer.

摘要: Method for enhancing in a mammalian cell the activity of an enzyme associated with Gaucher Disease by administering a competitive inhibitor of glucocerebrosidase in an amount effective to enhance the activity of the enzyme. Preferred compounds for use in the method are imino sugars and related compounds. In particular, C8–12-alkyl derivatives of N-alkyl-deoxynojirimycin, isofagomine compounds, and calystegine compounds are effective to enhance glucocerebrosidase activity.

摘要: It is intended to provide a novel receptor of LPA and a method of screening a drug such as an LPA receptor antagonist using the same. Use as a lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) receptor comprising a G protein-coupled protein p2y9. More specifically, use of the G protein-coupled protein p2y9 as a lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) receptor. A method of screening an agonist or an antagonist to the LPA receptor as described above by using the receptor.
