摘要: An integrated circuit comprising a plurality of processing modules (M, S) coupled by an interconnect means (N) is provided. A first processing module (M) communicates with a second processing module (S) based on transactions. A first wrapper means (WM1) associated to said second processing module (S) buffers data from said second processing module (S) to be transferred over said interconnect means until a first amount of data is buffered and then transfers said first amount of buffered data to said first processing module (M).

摘要: A split protocol transmission method for transmitting data and a communication thread identifier for said data along a communication path from a source functional unit (SFU) to a destination functional unit (DFU) via zero or more intermediate functional units (IFU) is described. A data consuming functional unit (CFU) and a data producing functional unit (PFU) in the communication path directly communicate to each other by means of a handshake procedure wherein the data consuming functional unit (CFU) indicates a communication thread identifier (TID) to the data producing functional unit. The data producing functional unit provides data related to said communication thread identifier to said data consuming functional unit. Likewise a data processing system using this method is described.

摘要: An integrated circuit comprising a plurality of processing modules (M; I; S; T) and a network (N; RN) arranged for providing at least one connection between a first and at least one second module is provided. Said connections comprises a set of communication channels each having a set of connection properties. Said connection supports transactions comprising outgoing messages from the first module to the second module and return messages from the second module to the first module. The connection properties of the different communication channels of said connection can be adjusted independently. Therefore, the utilization of the resources of a network on chip is more efficient, since the connection between modules can be efficiently adapted to their actual requirement, such that the connection is not over dimensioned and unused network resources can be assigned to other connections.

摘要: A system and method are described for correcting for a loss of message boundary in a real-time data transmission over an interconnect between a source node and a destination node in an apparatus. In the apparatus, a destination node received one or more messages, wherein each message includes one or more data frames, and each data frame of each message includes an end-of-message flag and a message sequence number, the end-of-message flag set when the data frame is the last data frame in a particular message, and the message sequence number is different for different messages. A loss of message boundary is determined for a previous message when a new data frame of a new message is received and the new message sequence number of the new data frame is different from the previous message sequence number and a last received data frame did not include a set end-of-message flag. To establish re-synchronization, the destination node transmits a synchronization loss message to the source node, and the destination node receives in reply a status report message, and the destination node can regain synchronization of the last received message data such that a previous message boundary can be determined according to the status report message.

摘要: A data processor system includes a first data processor unit for transmitting data units to a second data processor unit and a retry buffer for temporarily storing transmitted data units. The second data processor unit receives the transmitted data and includes an error detector for detecting an error in the received data. When an error is detected, the first data processor unit is notified and a controller causes a data selector to select data from a retry buffer. The first data processor unit limits retransmission of a data unit to a predetermined maximum number of times irrespective of whether the data unit is correctly received or not. This allows for an undisturbed flow of streaming data with an increased reliability.

摘要: An electronic device is provided comprising an interconnect means (N, sw0-sw2) for connecting a plurality of modules (IP); and at least one network interface (NI) for coupling at least one of the plurality of modules (IP) to the interconnect means (N; sw0-sw2) and for packetizing data from the modules (IP) into first packets (pck). The communication over the interconnect (N; sw0-sw2) is based on time slots, wherein a second packet (μpck) is transferred during one time slot. A data traffic over the interconnect means (N; sw0-sw2) comprises at least one guaranteed service traffic class (GS) and/or at least one best-effort service traffic class (BE). First packets (GSpck) relating to the at least one guaranteed service traffic class (GS) are transferred in second packets (μpck) within time slots reserved for the guaranteed service traffic class (GS). First packets (pck1-pck6) relating to the at least one best-effort service traffic class (BE) are transferred within unreserved second packets (μpck) and/or within unused portions (uu) of the second packets (μpck).

摘要: To manage a connection in a connection-oriented in-order delivery environment, a connection is established between a client and a server in an in-order delivery environment where the message exchange is based on a reliable network and, an unreliable network, also taking traffic classes for real-time operation into account. In comparison to present examples message overhead sequence numbers can be saved and the number of messages can be streamlined and reduced. Further, some error cases are also discussed taking also the bandwidth allocation by forwarding of messages across routers into account.
