    摘要: A rotary displacement measuring apparatus includes an axle whose rotary displacement is to be determined, with the axle being mounted to rotate about its long axis. An emitter is mounted on the axle to define a plurality of concentric tracks circumscribing the axle to rotate as the axle rotates, with each of the tracks being segmented to define a plurality of spaced-apart, conductive sections for producing electric fields when energized. Also included is a voltage source for energizing the conductive sections. A detector is disposed adjacent to the tracks of the emitter and includes a plurality of sensors, each positioned adjacent a respective track to detect the electric fields of the respective track as the axle and tracks are rotated. The detector produces signals representing the variation in the electric fields as the emitter is rotated, and these signals provide an indication of the rotary displacement of the tracks and thus of the axle.

    摘要: A servovalve apparatus for use in fluid systems which comprises an elongate flexible valve element having a fixed end and a free, moveable end, and a conductive coil which surrounds at least a portion of the valve element adjacent its fixed end. An armature is secured to the valve element so as to be adjacent the conductive coil. Two permanent magnets, are provided adjacent the armature on opposite sides thereof, the magnets being positioned such that one magnet presents a north magnetic pole facing the armature and the other magnet presents a south magnetic pole facing the armature. A recieving plate is provided adjacent the free end of the valve element, the receiving plate having one or more channels formed therein for receiving fluid, and a bore for delivering fluid. Preferably, the channels and bore in the receiving plate originate within and communicate with a concave socket in the receiving plate which has substantially the same radius of curvature as the path over which the free end of the valve element moves during flexure. A deflection cup is disposed on the free end of the valve element to move adjacent the surface of the concave socket and selectively redirect fluid from the bore to one of the channels.

Tubular members may be chamfered or tapered continuously or incrementally.     摘要: An improved piston-type vacuum pump comprises a reciprocating piston disposed within a cylinder having a proximal end and a distal end, an inlet port formed in the side of the cylinder near the proximal end, and a spring-biased outlet valve, such as a poppet valve or a rocker valve, disposed at the distal end of the cylinder. The piston stroke is configured to provide zero or negative clearance between the piston head and the face of the outlet valve at the end of the compression stroke. The piston reciprocates within the cylinder from a first position wherein the surface of the piston head is proximal of the inlet port, to a second position wherein the surface of the piston head is beyond the distal end of the cylinder, so as to contact the face of the outlet valve in its open position. The piston top and outlet valve face remain in contact until the piston has retracted into the distal end of the cylinder, allowing the valve to seal the distal end of the cylinder prior to the beginning of the expansion stroke, such that there is substantially no dead volume within the cylinder at the beginning of the expansion stroke.
