摘要: An apparatus for diverting material in a controlled manner comprising a diverter plate attached to a mounting assembly. The diverter plate is shaped for receiving falling material and facilitating the flow of the material onto a conveyance means or into storage. The mounting assembly comprises a carrier spring assembly that permits the diverter plate to pivot about a shaft and thereby move from a default position to an unload position. The mounting assembly further comprises two adjustable locking mounts that hold the shaft in place and also allow the shaft to be adjustably rotated and thereafter fixed in place. A method for diverting material in a controlled manner comprises the steps of installing the apparatus at a transfer point and activating a first conveyance means that feeds material to the chute. A second conveyance means that receives the material after diversion by the apparatus can optionally be activated.

摘要: A technique for reducing the vibration sensitivity of laser-stabilizing optical reference cavities is based upon an improved design and mounting method for the cavity, wherein the cavity is mounted vertically. It is suspended at one plane, around the spacer cylinder, equidistant from the mirror ends of the cavity. The suspension element is a collar of an extremely low thermal expansion coefficient material, which surrounds the spacer cylinder and contacts it uniformly. Once the collar has been properly located, it is cemented in place so that the spacer cylinder is uniformly supported and does not have to be squeezed at all. The collar also includes a number of cavities partially bored into its lower flat surface, around the axial bore. These cavities are support points, into which mounting base pins will be inserted. Hence the collar is supported at a minimum of three points.

摘要: A computer-based fibre production monitoring system includes at least one sensor, and a computer server in communication with the sensors. Each sensor is configured to provide data packets each being associated with a respective threadline and providing a measurement of at least one physical characteristic of a fibre as it is drawn past the sensor on the threadline and wound onto a bobbin. The computer server is configured to provide an analysis of the physical characteristics on a per-threadline basis and/or per-bobbin basis from the measurements. The sensor is configured as an electric field sensor, and includes an insulating substrate, non-contacting electrodes disposed on the substrate, and vias extending transversely through the substrate. The electrodes are interlaced with one another. One portion of the vias is coupled to one portion of the electrodes, and another portion of the vias is coupled to another portion of the electrodes.

摘要: A panoramic see-through optical device in accordance with the present invention includes at least two prisms having a reflective face extending diagonally through the prism. Each prism has one convex surface with a tangent plane thereto, and the two prisms are arranged so that the tangent planes are orthogonal to each other. The device further includes a plurality of display panels corresponding to a respective prism. The display panels are placed about parallel to each tangent plane so that the convex surface of the prism faces the panel. An optical train, which minimally includes a filter and a surface diffractive lens, is located between the display panel and the prism, primarily to correct for chromatic aberration, or color spread. Data from each display panel can be reflected by reflective face internal to the prism and seen by the operator. At the same time, the operator can see directly through the partially reflective face of the prism. The result is a field of view with data from the display panel that is superimposed over the field of view.

摘要: An optical imager for use in the 3-5 micron spectral band. The imager comprises a large aperture positively-powered first objective lens made of a first material for collecting collimated light, and a slightly negatively-powered second objective lens made of a second material spaced behind the first objective lens to provide a color-corrected intermediate focal plane for the collected light. The imager further includes a relay group of three lenses disposed behind the second objective lens for re-imaging the intermediate focal plane.

摘要: An apparatus and method for removing stored energy from a storage phosphor screen in which a radiation image was recorded and then read by collecting stimulated emission from the phosphor sheet. The phosphor sheet is transported along a path in a first direction at a first speed into an erase area having at least one erasing light source. A portion of the phosphor sheet disposed within the erase area is exposed to the light source to affect erasure of the radiation image on the exposed portion of the phosphor sheet. Transport of the phosphor sheet is stopped when the trailing edge of the phosphor sheet enters the erase area and the phosphor sheet dwells within the erase area for a predetermined time period. The phosphor sheet is then transported along the path in a second direction at a second speed, and then transported along the path in the second direction at a third speed when the leading edge exits the erase area.

摘要: A conveyor belt cleaning system being a torsion blade holder assembly having a mounting sub-assembly and a blade support sub-assembly. The mounting sub-assembly has a first hollow member and a second member situated at least partially therein with torsion elements in the plurality of spaces or cavities between the first hollow member and the second member. The blade support sub-assembly, in which a scraper blade is secured, is attached to the second member such that when the scraper blade meets resistance while scraping the surface of a conveyor belt, the torsion elements are compressed and the blade support sub-assembly with the scraper blade rotates away from the conveyor belt. The blade support sub-assembly includes notched receiving members for receiving the scraper blade, a face plate extending between the notched receiving members approximately parallel to the scraper blade such that at least a portion of the scraper blade rests flush against the face plate when the scraper blade is situated in the notched receiving members, a horizontal blade stabilizer approximately perpendicular to and extending beneath the face plate, and a means for vertically adjusting the scraper blade within the notched receiving members. The means for vertically adjusting is one or more adjustable lock bolts extending upward through the horizontal blade stabilizer for adjusting the scraper blade up and down within the notched receiving members. The torsion blade holder assembly optionally includes a shield and a means for spraying a liquid on the conveyor belt.
