    摘要: A branched, high molecular-weight polyaryl-ether sulphone which is the reaction product of approximately equimolar amounts of an aromatic dialkali metal bishydroxylate and a bis-(halogen-aryl) compound, whose aryl nuclei are linked by sulphonyl groups, and about 0.01 to about 2 mol %, based on the bishydroxylate or bis-(4-halogenaryl) compound, of an aromatic compound having at least three aromatically linked alkali metal hydroxylate substitutents and/or of a halogenaryl compound having at least three aryl-linked halogen substituents and which is capable of substitution under the reaction conditions of polyaryl-ether sulphone manufacture.

    摘要: The subject of the instant invention are polycarbonates based on diphenols of the formula I ##STR1## wherein Y is a single bond, an elkylene- or alkylidene-radical with 1 to 7 carbon atoms, a cycloalkylene- or cycloalkylidene-radical with 5 to 12 carbon atoms, ##STR2## which have weight average molecular weights (M.sub.LS) measured by light scattering of at least 15 000 and which are characterized in having an average of zero to 1.5 mols, preferably 0.3 to 1.0 mols and especially 0.3 to 0.8 mols endgroups per mol polycarbonate.The subject of instant invention is also a process for preparing these polycarbonates according to the interfacial polycondensation method, the polycarbonates thus obtained and the use of the polycarbonates according instant invention for the preparation of compounds and films.

    摘要: A polycarbonate film having improved flame resistance and good stress-corrosion-cracking resistance is prepared from a solution of a mixture of a low molecular weight polycarbonate containing at least about 5% by weight halogen and a higher molecular weight polycarbonate prepared from bisphenol containing at least 90 mol percent bisphenol A. The novel film can be used to advantage for self-supporting electrical insulating films.
