Provided is a method and apparatus for performing intra-prediction using an adaptive filter. The method for performing intra-prediction includes the steps of: determining whether or not to apply a first filter for a reference pixel value on the basis of information of a neighboring block of a current block; applying the first filter for the reference pixel value when it is determined to apply the first filter; performing intra-prediction on the current block on the basis of the reference pixel value; determining whether or not to apply a second filter for a prediction value according to each prediction mode of the current block, which is predicted by the intra-prediction performance on the basis of the information of the neighboring block; and applying the second filter for the prediction value according to each prediction mode of the current block when it is determined to apply the second filter.

The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for encoding and decoding an image by skip encoding. The image-encoding method by skip encoding, which performs intra-prediction, comprises: performing a filtering operation on the signal which is reconstructed prior to an encoding object signal in an encoding object image; using the filtered reconstructed signal to generate a prediction signal for the encoding object signal; setting the generated prediction signal as a reconstruction signal for the encoding object signal; and not encoding the residual signal which can be generated on the basis of the difference between the encoding object signal and the prediction signal, thereby performing skip encoding on the encoding object signal.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for false contour detection and removal for video coding are disclosed. The method includes performing false contour detection by detecting a map of false contour candidate pixels from input image data through sequential evolution of a step of acquiring false contour candidate pixels based on each of a plurality of features of a human visual system in a manner that decreases the number of pixels to be detected in each sequential step, and performing false contour removal by removing a false contour in the input image data according to the map of false contour candidate pixels.

An intra prediction method according to the present invention comprises the following steps: deriving neighboring prediction mode information from a left neighboring prediction mode and a top neighboring prediction mode; deriving an intra prediction mode for a target unit to be decoded, using the derived neighboring prediction mode information; and performing intra prediction for the target unit to be decoded, based on the intra prediction mode. According to the present invention, video encoding/decoding efficiency may be improved.

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus of radio link selection based on delay spread, the user equipment according to the present invention receives radio signals from neighboring multiple base stations, measures delay spread of the signals received from the multiple neighboring base stations, selects at least one base station among the neighboring base stations based on the delay spread measured, and connects a radio link with the selected at least one base station. According to the present invention, the inter-symbol interference due to delay spread can be decreased, thereby it is available to implement the maximum transmission speed in a given propagation environment.

A method for 3DTV multiplexing according to the present invention comprises, deriving a delay value in units of frames for the left and right image based on a left image PES (Packetized Elementary Stream) corresponding to a left image and a right image PES corresponding to a right image, carrying out synchronization of the left image PES and the right image PES based on the delay value in units of frames, and generating 3DTV transport streams (TSs) by carrying out multiplexing of the synchronized left image PES and the synchronized right image PES. According to the present invention, efficiency of video services can be improved.
