摘要: An LED spotlight is made with at least one light emitting diode and a lens placed forward of the light emitting diode to collimate the light from the light emitting diode into a beam. The light emitting diode is preferably a type with a nominal power of at least 1 watt, requiring heatsinking, and having a nominal radiation pattern width of 100 degrees or more. The lens is preferably concavo-convex. The lens can have a thickness less than the distance between the rear surface of the lens and the light emitting diode. The LED spotlight can be mounted on headwear that would be worn on a person's head. The LED spotlight can be in the form of a flashlight. The LED spotlight can be in the form of an inspection lamp suitable for causing visible fluorescence of fluorescent materials, such as leaks of fluids that have suitable fluorescent dyes.

摘要: LED lamp has LEDs aimed rearwards with either a concave mirror to the rear of each LED, or one concave mirror to the rear of two or more LEDs, collecting the light from the LEDs to form a forward projecting beam. LEDs may be high power types that require heatsinking. LED lamp may have a lens forward of each LED to collimate the radiation produced by the LEDs into a beam, where at least one lens has at least one aspheric curved surface. LED lamp may have a transparent reflective optic to collimate the radiation produced by each LED into a beam. For an inspection lamp, the LEDs typically have a peak wavelength of 395 to 415 nanometers for seeing the area being irradiated but not so visible as to overwhelm fluorescence of fluorescent materials to be detected. Other wavelengths may be used. LED inspection lamp has a combination of LEDs of different wavelengths or a combination of at least one LED and at least one other light source such that the lamp produces radiation suitable for detection of materials to be detected and adequately illuminates the area being irradiated. LED lamp has LEDs that produce a beam of suitable radiation with a width of 10 degrees or less without additional optics. LED inspection lamp has head attached to a flexible member, with head serving as heatsink for one or more high power LEDs. Current regulator circuits are also disclosed.

摘要: Apparatus has a body with a conduit defined therein. Body is mounted between, and connected to, a charging system containing pressurized fluid and a pressurized system. One apparatus has a retractable discharge tube inserted into a first end of the body. Once the body is connected to both the charging system and the pressurized system, a force is applied on the charging system toward the pressurized system. The force causes the charging system and the pressurized system to mate with the body urging the discharge tube to retract to release fluid into the conduit, and actuates the fitting to permit the fluid in the conduit to enter the pressurized system. Another apparatus has a manually deformable charging system and an adapter with a check valve to permit manual urging of fluid in the charging system through deformation of the charging system.

摘要: A conduit for use in association with an air conditioning or refrigeration system. Conduit has first and second conduit portions, and swivel providing fluid communication between first and second conduit portions. Swivel permits rotational movement of the first conduit portion relative to the second conduit portion. Swivel is constrained to prevent linear movement between the first and second portions at the swivel. Conduit also has a fitting for external connection of the conduit to a pressure port of air conditioning or refrigeration system, fitting for fluid communication with the first and second conduit portions. The conduit provides sealed fluid communication from first conduit portion, swivel and second conduit portion to air conditioning or refrigeration system when fitting is connected to air conditioning or refrigeration system. There are also conduit adapters, injection hose assemblies, and charging manifolds with swivels, and methods of utilizing such conduits and swivels.

摘要: Absorbent plugs and caps plug or cap fittings that have been used to inject liquids into various systems. The plugs are sized to fit within the interior body cavity of fittings to absorb the residual liquid that is left in the cavity after use. The caps are sized to fit over the exterior of the fittings to absorb any residual liquid that leaks out from fitting exterior surfaces. The caps can also have interior plug extensions that extend into the interior cavities to also absorb the residual liquid from the interior. The plugs have non absorptive tabs for insertion and removal and the caps have non absorptive exterior skins or coverings to contain the absorbed liquid within the cap. One such use is to plug and/or cap fittings such as R134a service couplers which are used to inject dye into automotive air conditioning systems.

摘要: A method is provided for applying an internal coating to a fluid conduit component before assembly of that component in a fluid circuit. A selected amount of coating material is placed into a measuring device and dispensed into an opening of the component to coat an interior surface of the component. The coating material may be a leak detection dye or other additive that is later dissolved when the component is installed in a system of components such as an air conditioning system. When the system is charged with refrigerant and lubricant, the dye dissolves and may be circulated by the refrigerant and lubricant. If a leak exists in the system, the dye is expressed to indicate the location of a leak site. An apparatus is also provided for applying dye to an interior surface of a component of an air conditioning unit, prior to assembly of the component in an air conditioning system. The apparatus has a means for placing a selected amount of dye into a measuring device and a means for dispensing the dye into an opening of the component to coat an interior surface of the component.

摘要: A lamp system is for use in non-destructive testing to illuminate luminescent materials, such as fluorescent dyes. The lamp system has a control unit and a lamp. The lamp has a bulb and a filter. The bulb generates at least a first wavelength of invisible energy and the filter limits other visible wavelength light from the lamp. The lamp has a handle with a trigger. The control unit pulses the lamp on and off when the trigger is depressed. The luminescent material absorbs the first wavelength of energy and pulses in response when the lamp illuminates the material. The system can be AC or DC operated. It can be operated from an automotive battery.
