Abstract:
In an integrated unified messaging (UM) and interactive voice system, a unified messaging application server provides a plurality of different types of messages. The unified messaging application server is responsive to a media server which serves the different types of messages to at least one user device. The unified messaging application server is also responsive to an interactive voice server, that communicates with the unified messaging application server and the media server. The interactive voice server includes a plurality of nodes that can be accessed by the unified messaging application server, such that the user device is provided with messages that allow the user device to access the interactive voice server.
Abstract:
The communication history associated with a contacting party is accessed using identification information provided with an incoming communication. The incoming communication may have a different service type (e.g., email, telephone call, instant message chat) compared to stored communications that make up the communication history for a contacting party. Multiple uniform resource identifiers may be accessed upon processing of identification information associated with the contacting party's incoming communication. Communication histories associated with each uniform resource identifier may be accessed and combined to provide a party receiving the communication with a complete communication history including stored communications having differing service types.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to select a dynamically peered voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) border element are disclosed. An example method comprises collecting data representative of a dynamic performance of a voice over Internet protocol network, prioritizing a selection of a peered border element based on the collected data, and modifying a telephone number mapping (ENUM) database based on the prioritized selection.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to select a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) border element are disclosed. An example method comprises sending a first session initiation protocol (SIP) protocol message from a first voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) device, the first SIP message comprising an Internet protocol (IP) address shared by at least two VoIP border elements, and receiving a second SIP message at the first VoIP device from a second VoIP device, the second SIP message comprising a unique address for the second VoIP device, the second VoIP device to be selected based on the shared IP address.
Abstract:
Various method and system embodiments of the present invention are directed to data and data-state-describing data structures employed in storage components of a distributed data-storage system. In one embodiment of the present invention, a hierarchical data structure stores the data state of a component data-storage system of a distributed data-storage system. In another embodiment of the present invention, a data-block address, stored in a computer-readable memory within a component data-storage system of a distributed data-storage system, includes a block identifier and additional data fields that serve to uniquely specify the addressed data block when multiple copies of the data block are stored in the component data-storage system under different redundancy schemes.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for infusing fluid into a large animal. The infusion pump comprises an electric pump unit and a catheter. The catheter is in fluid communication with the pump unit and adapted for insertion into a fluid passageway of the animal. The pump unit is adapted to pump at least five hundred milliliters of fluid through the catheter and into the animal in one minute at a flow rate of at least five hundred milliliters per minute. The infusion pump can be packaged with a manual to make a kit. The manual provides instructions for use of the infusion pump to infuse fluid into an animal.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention are directed toward a novel pressurized vapor cycle for distilling liquids. In some embodiments of the invention, a liquid purification system is revealed, including the elements of an input for receiving untreated liquid, a vaporizer coupled to the input for transforming the liquid to vapor, a head chamber for collecting the vapor, a vapor pump with an internal drive shaft and an eccentric rotor with a rotatable housing for compressing vapor, and a condenser in communication with the vapor pump for transforming the compressed vapor into a distilled product. Other embodiments of the invention are directed toward heat management, and other process enhancements for making the system especially efficient.
Abstract:
Apparatus and method for detecting when an animal is in heat is provided. The apparatus includes a logic controller, a power source, a clock, an actuator, and a presentation interface such as an array of LEDs (Light-Emitting Diodes) that records breeding behavior in animals and presents corresponding data in a manner that can readily be observed from a distance. The method includes, according to some embodiments, receiving a first stimulus, validating that the first stimulus was received incident to a first mating-behavior event, receiving a second stimulus incident to a second mating-behavior event; and storing the occurrence of the first stimulus along with a time indicator for future retrieval and display on a presentation interface, wherein the presentation interface includes an LED array.
Abstract:
This disclosure describes an anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal portable personal toilet seat that is resistant to algae, mold and mildew and that can be safely folded and held without the danger of pinched fingers and without a handle.
