摘要: The present invention provides mammalian protein tyrosine phosphatases, human PTP-BAS type 4, human PTP-BAS type 5a and mouse PTP-BAS type 5b, each of which is a Fas-associated protein (FAP), nucleic acid molecules encoding a PTP-BAS type 4 or a PTP-BAS type 5 and antibodies specific for a PTP-BAS type 4 or for a PTP-BAS type 5. The invention also provides methods for identifying FAP's, which can associate with Fas and can modulate apoptosis. The invention also provides screening assays for identifying an agent that can effectively alter the association of a FAP with Fas and, therefore, can increase or decrease the level of apoptosis in a cell. The invention further provides methods of modulating apoptosis in a cell by introducing into the cell a nucleic acid molecule encoding a PTP-BAS or fragment of a PTP-BAS or an antisense nucleotide sequence, which is complementary to a portion of a nucleic acid molecule encoding a PTP-BAS. The invention also provides a method of using a reagent that can specifically bind to a FAP to diagnose a pathology that is characterized by an increased or decreased level of apoptosis in a cell. The invention also provides methods of modulating apoptosis in a cell by contacting the cell with an agent that effectively alters the association of a FAP and Fas in a cell or alters the activity of a FAP in a cell.

摘要: In a communication system of a subscriber extension line system, there is provided a communication controller whereby the load of an unnecessary process to be applied on a communication controller relating to a destination of a mobile telephone is eliminated and the processing efficiency for communication control is enhanced. In a D-RNC which controls the communication of the mobile telephone and which is commonly connected with an S-RNC, the mobile telephone moves while maintaining the communication with the S-RNC. When the mobile telephone enters a cell relating to the D-RNC, the control data is transmitted or received between the S-RNC and the node for managing the mobile telephone. There are also provided: an IP address/UDP port number for RNSAP, reading/setting section 316 for acquiring an IP address identifying the S-RNC and an IP address identifying the node; an IP address/UDP port number for NBAP, reading/setting section 315; and an IP address/UDP port number exchange section 314 for notifying the other side of the S-RNC and the node of the acquired IP addresses, respectively. This allows a direct communication between the S-RNC and the node.

摘要: Disclosed is a communication method for switching between a first connection state, in which a data unit is transmitted in a first size, and a second connection state, in which a data unit is transmitted in a second size which is larger than the first size. The communication method comprises a step of maintaining the size of a data unit at the first size in a case where there is a transition from the first connection state to the second connection state after there had been a transition from the second connection state to the first connection state.

摘要: A branch candidate selecting method by a mobile station and a diversity handover control method on a network side in DHO performance are provided which consider a maximum cable branch number and maximum radio branch number of the mobile station, when the mobile station detects the plurality of addition branch candidates and deletion branch candidates. The mobile station inserts a plurality of addition branch candidates and deletion branch candidates, that is, all the DHO candidates into one handover trigger signal, and notifies the network. The addition branch candidates are put into addition information parameters in the handover trigger signal, and the deletion branch candidates are put into deletion information parameters. To simplify processing on the network side, the network side separates the addition branch candidates from the deletion branch candidates, and carries out sequential processing of them independently.

摘要: A mobile station for communicating with base stations simultaneously in diversity handover. The mobile station monitors radio condition quality corresponding to a plurality of branches, selects one or more addition branch candidates based on the monitored radio condition quality. The mobile station arranges the addition branch candidates in order of the monitored radio condition quality; notifies a center of information on said plurality of branches including said addition branch candidates, the addition branch candidates being notified in the arranged order. Alternatively, the mobile station obtains a relative value of each of the addition branch candidates indicative of order of precedence to be used for the diversity handover based on the monitored radio condition quality of said addition branch candidates; and notifies a center of information on said plurality of branches including said addition branch candidates and their relative values.

摘要: A handover method for controlling communication between a mobile station and base station(s) in a wireless communication system. The method includes measuring signal qualities transmitted from the base station(s), the measured signal qualities including a measured quality of a signal received from a certain base station; identifying the base station as an addition candidate based on the measured quality exceeding an addition threshold; thereafter detecting that the measured quality of the signal received from the addition candidate has further exceeded an active threshold which is greater than the addition threshold. The active threshold is determined in accordance with a quality of a signal transmitted from one or more active base stations. In response, the base stations are notified of information about the addition candidate; and a handover process is performed on the bases on this information.
