    摘要: It is an object of this invention to prevent a false edge phenomenon in quantization processing for a multilevel image. In order to achieve this object, according to the invention, (1) a reference threshold (Cthreshold) to be used for error diffusion for a cyan (C) component is obtained on the basis of a density value M of a magenta (M) component. (2) A threshold modulation amount table is referred to by using a combination of a density value C of the C component and the density value M of the M component. (3) A correction threshold modulation amount Cthreshold′ is determined by adding the threshold modulation amount obtained in the second step to the reference threshold Cthreshold to be used for error diffusion for the C component. (4) A density Ct after error diffusion for the C component is compared with the correction threshold Cthreshold′. If the density Ct is higher, a quantization value binDataC of the target pixel is set to 255. If the density Ct is lower, the quantization value is set to 0. The same processing as described above is also performed for the cyan component.

    摘要: Upon outputting halftone image data to an output device, density transformation is prevalently performed to improve image quality. Density transformation corresponds to linear gamma correction, and cannot correct for color fog and the like that may occur in a photo image. Hence, lightness and color-difference information of halftone image data is acquired on the basis of low-frequency components of frequency data obtained by transforming halftone image data into spatial frequency components, and a lightness and color-difference transform amount of the halftone image data is set on the basis of the acquired lightness and color-difference information.

    摘要: A print apparatus which receives image data from a digital camera, PC card, or PC to print an image on a storage medium outputs print data based on image data from the PC to a printer engine via a USB hub, and prints an image. The apparatus has a DSP which receives compressed image data from the digital camera or PC card, decodes the received data, and parallelly executes, for the decoded image data, at least color space conversion processing, size change processing, and color conversion processing. The apparatus generates print data on the basis of the image data processed by the DSP, outputs the generated print data to the printer engine, and prints an image.

    摘要: Image data, or RGB luminance data input from a host computer, is color-converted by LUT into 8-bit CMYK density data for each ink color. The CMYK density data is divided into predetermined regions and, based on a gray scale value for each of the divided regions, ink application volumes are calculated. According to the calculated ink application volumes, the 8-bit processing liquid application data S is generated. Then, the CMYK density data and the processing liquid application data undergo output gamma processing, after which they are quantized by a quantization processing unit into 1-bit ejection data for each nozzle.
