A wiper blade member can maintain a high water repellency even for a pigment ink. The wiper blade member, which can eliminate a deposit on an ink discharge face of an ink jet recording head, is made water repellent by a condensate of a fluorine-containing hydrolysable compound. The condensate increases a fluorine content significantly and shows a strong adhesion to a substrate (blade) by the presence of the hydrolysable group. The condensate strongly adheres to the substrate by a condensation reaction only by hydrolysis, but the adhesion can be further improved by photo- or thermocuring. The curing reaction can be executed at a relatively low temperature, without causing damage to the blade constituting the substrate.

The invention provides a composite composition comprising a cationically polymerizable organic resin, a cationic photoinitiator, a hydrolysate and/or condensate of at least one hydrolysable silane compound and inorganic nanoparticles. The composite composition is suitable for the preparation of patterned moulded articles or substrates having a patterned coating, in particular by photolithography. Micropatterns obtained show improved properties, such as a high shape stability and an excellent elastic modulus.

The pattern forming method is a pattern forming method having the step of forming on a substrate a coat resin layer containing a photopolymerizable resin, the step of applying a solution containing a photopolymerization starting agent onto the coat resin layer, and forming the distribution of the density of the photopolymerization starting agent in the direction of film thickness of the coat resin layer, and the step of applying light from above the coat resin layer through a mask having a pattern depicted thereon, and the step of developing the coat resin layer to which the light has been applied to thereby make it into a coat resin layer having the pattern, and this method is applied to the manufacture of an ink jet recording head.

A method for manufacturing an ink jet recording head, which is provided with orifices for liquid discharge use, nozzles communicated with the orifices, electrothermal converting members arranged in the nozzles to form bubbles in the liquid by providing thermal energy for it, the liquid chamber communicated with the nozzles to supply liquid to the nozzles and a substrate having the electrothermal converting members provided therefor, comprises the steps of preparing the substrate to be a silicon substrate having (100) plane or (110) plane crystal axes therefor, forming organic resin layer at least in the liquid chamber on the silicon substrate, then, removing by means of anisotropic etching a part of the liquid chamber formation portion of the substrate from the reverse side of the formation surface of the organic resin layer and forming an elastic member portion formed by the membrane of the organic resin layer in the liquid chamber. With the method of manufacture thus arranged, it is possible to provide an ink jet recording head capable of performing stable discharges for a long-term use with the incorporation of such elastic member portion in the liquid chamber to absorb the pressure vibration caused by the performance of ink discharges and to suppress the resultant vibrations of menisci at the discharge ports.
