    摘要: The invention provides a method for producing a liquid discharge head including a head main body provided with plural energy generation elements for generating energy for discharging liquid as a flying liquid droplet and plural flow paths in which the energy generation elements are respectively provided, and an orifice plate provided with plural discharge ports respectively communicating with the flow paths, wherein the orifice plate and the head main body are mutually adjoined, the method comprising a step of preparing a substrate consisting of a silicon-containing material for preparing the orifice plate a step of forming, by dry etching, plural recesses in positions on the surface of the substrate respectively corresponding to the discharge ports, with a depth larger by 5 to 50 &mgr;m than the depth of the discharge ports, a step of thinning the substrate from the reverse side thereof until the depth of the recesses becomes equal to the depth of the discharge apertures to form plural discharge ports on the substrate, thereby preparing the orifice plate constructed by forming the plural discharge ports in the substrate, and a step of adjoining the orifice plate to the head main body.

Joints of each of Y, M and C color swaths are spaced from joints of swaths of the other two colors by an equal distance, and the discharge port groups are offset from each other by 8n times of a discharge port pitch in a direction of feed of the recording medium. In a number of image buffers corresponding to the discharge ports, image data in one buffer is separated from image data in a different image buffer by an amount that is an integer multiply of one 8 bit byte.

    摘要: A replaceable ink tank for an ink cartridge used in a bubble jet printer comprises a container formed by two side walls providing major surfaces of the container, and back, front, top and bottom walls. At least one ink supply port is provided in the bottom wall of container and is disposed for supplying ink from at least one ink chamber in the container to a corresponding ink tapping pipe in the ink cartridge. The container is configured for insertion into an opening in the top and front of the ink cartridge with the bottom wall of the container facing downward and a back wall facing a back wall of the ink cartridge, the container being constructed for engaging a camming shoe located at the back inside of a top wall of the cartridge and securing the container in place in the ink cartridge with the ink supply port connecting with the corresponding ink tapping pipe.

    摘要: A recording medium has a recording layer comprising image-forming elements (A), (B) and (C) containing at least a compound having unsaturated double bond and a photopolymerization initiator. The photopolymerization initiator in the element (A) is a compound represented by the following formula (I): ##STR1## (wherein Ar.sub.1 and Ar.sub.2 are ech aromatic ring or heterocyclis ring). The photopolymerization initiator in the element (B) has an absorption maximum in a wavelength region of 360 to 430 nm. The photopolymerization initiator in the element (C) has an absorption maximum in a wavelength region of 430 nm or longer. The recording medium is suitably used as a transfer recording medium in a recording apparatus which includes heating means and light irradiating means to provide the recording layer with heat energy and photoenergy to change the transfer characteristic of the recording layer. The light irradiating means includes a phosphor of thallium-activated calcium phosphate or thallium-activated calcium zinc phosphate, a phosphor having a fluorescent peak wavelength of 360 to 430 nm and a phosphor having a fluorescent peak wavelength of 430 nm or longer, and a light source for exciting the phosphors.

    摘要: A transfer recording medium comprises a support and a transfer recording layer formed thereon capable of charging its transferability when provided with light energy and heat energy. The transfer recording layer comprises at least a colorant and a functional component sensitive to the provision of light energy and heat energy. The functional component comprises at least a photo-initiator and a polymerizing component of a monomer, oligomer or prepolymer having an unsaturated double bond. The polymerizing component has a melting point of 40.degree.-150.degree. C. Because of the inclusion of the polymerizing component which is solid at room temperature, the transfer recording layer has an excellent storability as well as an increased sensitivity contrast to illumination between under heating and under no heating.

    摘要: A recording medium comprises a recording layer formed on a substrate. The recording layer comprises a solid solution of a guest compound in a matrix polymer. The guest compound, such as a para-di-substituted benzene derivative, has a substantial second order micro-nonlinear optical constant .beta. but shows substantially no nonlinear optical effect in its crystalline form. The matrix polymer is preferably a polyoxyalkylene. A part of the recording layer is caused to have a nonlinear optical effect when it is supplied with a combination of an external field such as an electric or magnetic field and heating followed by cooling for solidification, and is caused to lose its nonlinear optical effect when it is subjected to heating followed by cooling for solidification in the absence of such an external field.
