    摘要: Methods of weight treatment in animals are presented including: stimulating a retinal ganglia of the animal by an exposure to a narrow spectrum light. In some embodiments, the stimulating the retinal ganglia of the animal is associated with a stimulation of melanopsin. In some embodiments, the stimulation of melanopsin is associated with a inhibition of melatonin secretion. In some embodiments, inhibition of melatonin secretion is associated with a stimulation of leptin secretion. In some embodiments, the stimulation of leptin secretion is associated with a decrease in appetite in the animal. In some embodiments, the exposure to the narrow spectrum light is associated with a weight loss in the animal. In some embodiments, the narrow spectrum light is in a spectrum range of approximately 435 to 520 nanometers.

The system includes an elongate shaft including a proximal portion, a distal portion, a lumen extending at least partially therethrough, and a stent-receiving portion on the distal shaft portion. The system also includes a stent positioned at the stent-receiving portion of the elongate shaft, the stent having a constrained configuration and an expanded configuration. Proximal and distal constraining members releasably connected to the stent and having a first position and a second position are also included. The proximal and distal constraining members cooperatively apply longitudinal tensile force to at least a portion of the stent with the proximal and distal constraining members each in the first position. A drive system configured to simultaneously move the proximal and distal constraining members is provided, including a threaded drive shaft in mechanical communication with a rotatable handle.

    摘要: Nickel is recovered from a nickeliferous ore, where the ore includes impurities in the form of metals other than nickel and cobalt. The ore is subjected to atmospheric leaching using sulphuric acid to dissolve nickel and cobalt from the ore and produce a leach liquor. The sulphuric acid is regenerated by rapidly heating the leach liquor to a temperature in excess of 120° C. to produce a slurry including sulphuric acid and precipitated oxides of impurities present in the leach liquor, and separating the precipitated oxides from the slurry to produce a clarified acid rich liquor stream for recycle to leaching.
