    摘要: A read head for a rotating magnetic storage system including concentric tracks is disclosed. The read head comprises a magnetoresistive (MR) sensor that reads information from a read track of the magnetic storage medium. First and second shields have a length greater than two tracks in a track width direction and define a gap therebetween, wherein the MR sensor is arranged in the gap. Inner magnetic portions of the first and second shields are spaced a first distance from the read track. Outer magnetic portions of the first and second shields are spaced a second distance from adjacent tracks to the read track, wherein the first distance is less than the second distance.

    摘要: A sliding material has a sintered layer formed atop a backing plate. The sintered layer contains 5-15 mass % of Bi nonuniformly distributed in a Cu—Sn alloy matrix consisting essentially of 8-12 mass % of Sn and a remainder of Cu. The sliding material can be manufactured by nonuniformly mixing Cu—Sn alloy powder and Bi powder, dispersing the mixed powder on a backing plate, and sintering the mixed powder to form a sintered layer on the backing plate. The sliding material does not undergo seizing and does not have separation of the sintered layer from the backing plate even when used in severe conditions such as in hydraulic equipment or construction equipment.

    摘要: A power supply device supplies power to an image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus includes a load and a control unit. The load requires power, and is controlled by the control unit. The power supply includes a capacitor and a power-supply unit. The capacitor is charged by an external power source, and dischargably stores therein power. The power-supply unit provides power supply from the capacitor to the load and the control unit before voltage of the external power source drops below a threshold level where malfunction of the image forming apparatus occurs. After the voltage recovers to the threshold level, the power-supply unit stops the power supply from the capacitor.
