摘要: Techniques are provided for detecting a fault across a pair of lines. Pulse power is applied across the pair of lines. The pulse power comprises alternating pulse on-time intervals and pulse off-time intervals. During a pulse off-time interval, a resistor is connected across the pair of lines and then disconnected when a voltage across the pair of lines reaches a first droop percentage in a first period of time. After disconnecting the resistor, it is determined whether the voltage across the pair of lines droops at least a second droop percentage within a second period of time that begins after the first period of time. Occurrence of a line-to-line fault across the pair of lines is determined when the voltage across the pair of lines droops by at least the second droop percentage or more within the second period of time.

摘要: An activity smoothener circuit is provided to control rates of change in processing activity to limit di/dt in activity areas of an IC to mitigate voltage droops or overshoots. Controlling the rate of change of activity prevents or reduces instances of a di/dt exceeding a programmed maximum that is based on physical limits of the IC and/or a package. In examples, the activity smoothener circuit includes a hierarchy of smoothening circuits controlling activity in areas down to individual circuit blocks (tiles) including execution circuits. An indication of a desired level of activity is provided to a parent smoothening circuit and the parent smoothening circuit responds with indications of actual activity allowed to occur. At each level of hierarchy, the activity smoothener circuit may use algorithms to generate indications of actual activity based on indications of desired activity and di/dt limits. Di/dt limits and current minimums and maximums are controlled.

摘要: Systems and methods for managing airflow in a backup battery unit (BBU) rack are described in the disclosure. In one embodiment, a system includes a BBU rack with a number of BBU modules, the BBU rack configured to power a server rack in a data center. The system further includes one or more crossflow fans, each crossflow fan configured to dynamically adjust its air blowing direction in real time; and a rack management controller that are connected to the server rack, the BBU rack and the one or more crossflow fans. The crossflow fan is equipped with a rotatable frame for airflow variations. The one or more crossflow fans to diffuse cooling air into one or more of the BBU modules in response to a power supply incident after receiving control signals from either a rack management controller and/or the BBU rack controller.
