摘要： An image processing apparatus includes a sort unit for sorting original image data into edge image data and planar image data, a first coding unit for coding the sorted planar image data according to the fractal block coding method, and a second coding unit for coding the sorted edge image data according to a coding method differing from the fractal block coding method. Thus, an image processing apparatus is provided that can have picture quality of a reproduced image improved even for a block that has maximum density difference such as an edge portion. The image processing apparatus can include a first coding unit for coding original image data according to the fractal block coding method, an extractor for extracting error between blocks, a comparator for comparing the amount of extracted error with a predetermined value, and a second coding unit for coding error information according to a coding method different from the fractal block coding method when the error amount is greater than the predetermined value as a result of comparison.

摘要： A high-vacuum pump is disclosed as including a molecular pump assembly and an oil-seated rotary pump assembly, a speed change mechanism being interposed between the two assemblies so as to transmit driving forces, with a predetermined ratio, between the assemblies. The molecular pump assembly includes a housing having inlet and outlet ports, and spiral grooves, including main and subsidiary grooves, are provided upon interior wall surfaces of the housing so as to establish fluidic communication between the ports. A vacuum-sealed rotor, suitably mounted upon a first drive shaft, is rotatably disposed within the housing so as to achieve a compression and pumping operation of fluid along the spiral grooves from the inlet port to the outlet port, and the oil-sealed rotary pump assembly is likewise provided with inlet and outlet ports, the inlet port thereof being directly connected to the outlet port of the molecular pump assembly. A rotor, suitably mounted upon a second drive shaft, is likewise disposed within a chamber of the rotary pump in such a manner as to define therewith variable-volume chambers fluidically connected to the inlet and outlet ports thereof, and the speed-change mechanism mechanically connects the drive shafts of both pump assemblies.

With such a structure, a lubrication structure for a transmission capable of holding an oil level at a proper level with a simplified structure can be provided.

摘要： Disclosed is a cellulose ester film for optical use which contains an ultraviolet absorbent and hardly suffers from retardation fluctuations. The cellulose ester film is excellent in spectral absorption property as an optical film. In addition, the cellulose ester film is free from coloration and has excellent transparency, which having sufficient ultraviolet absorption and excellent long-term light resistance. Also disclosed are a polarizing plate and liquid crystal display wherein high contrast is maintained by using such a cellulose ester film for optical use. Specifically disclosed is a cellulose ester film for optical use which is characterized by containing at least one compound represented by one of the general formulae 1-3.
