Abstract: A secondary battery with an exterior body having a novel sealing structure, and a structure of a sealing portion that relaxes a stress of deformation are provided. The secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, an electrolyte solution, and an exterior body enclosing at least part of the positive electrode, at least part of the negative electrode, and the electrolyte solution. The exterior body includes a first region having a shape with a curve, a shape with a wavy line, a shape with an arc, or a shape with a plurality of inflection points, and a second region having the same shape as the first region. The first region is in contact with the second region. Alternatively, the first region has a shape without a straight line. The secondary battery may be flexible, and the exterior body in a region having flexibility may include the first region.

Abstract: When stress is concentrated on an electrode and a tab to which a lead of the electrode is connected in a secondary battery with a curved shape, the tab might be broken. The secondary battery including a first electrode, a second electrode, a separator, a first lead, and a second lead includes a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion located between the first portion and the second portion. The first electrode overlaps with the second electrode with the separator provided therebetween in the first portion and the second portion. The first electrode is folded in the third portion so as to form a first folded portion, and the first lead is connected to the first folded portion. The second electrode is folded in the third portion so as to form a second folded portion, and the second lead is connected to the second folded portion.

Abstract: To provide a flexible, highly reliable, and sheet-like power storage device. The power storage device including a flexible substrate; a positive electrode lead and a negative electrode lead over the flexible substrate; and a plurality of power storage elements over the flexible substrate. The plurality of power storage elements each includes a stack body including a sheet-like positive electrode; a sheet-like negative electrode; and an electrolyte therebetween in an exterior body. An edge portion of the sheet-like positive electrode which extends to the outside of the exterior body is electrically connected to the positive electrode lead through a positive electrode tab provided for the exterior body. Abstract: To provide a lithium-ion storage battery or electronic device that is flexible and highly safe. One embodiment of the present invention is a flexible storage battery including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, an exterior body that surrounds the positive electrode, the negative electrode, and the separator, and a wiring provided along the exterior body. At least part of the wiring is more easily breakable by deformation than the exterior body. The wiring is more vulnerable to deformation than the exterior body and thus damaged earlier than the exterior body. Damage to the wiring is detected and an alert is sent to a user; thus, the use of the storage battery can be stopped before the exterior body is damaged.

Abstract: A battery capable of changing its form safely is provided. A bendable battery having a larger thickness is provided. A battery with increased capacity is provided. For an exterior body of the battery, a film in the shape of a periodic wave in one direction is used. A space is provided in an area surrounded by the exterior body and between an end portion of the electrode stack that is not fixed and an interior wall of the exterior body. Furthermore, the phases of waves of a pair of portions of the exterior body between which the electrode stack is located are different from each other. In particular, the phases are different from each other by 180 degrees so that wave crest lines overlap with each other and wave trough lines overlap with each other.

Abstract: A power storage unit or the like which has flexibility is achieved. An exterior body has projections and depressions. For example, part of the exterior body has projections and depressions in a wave cross-sectional shape. The shape of the projections and depressions is not limited to a shape with a curve and may be a shape with a straight line, such as a rectangle wave shape or a triangle wave shape. The projections and depressions allows the exterior body to be easily shrunk on the inner side of a bend portion and easily stretched on the outer side of the bend portion.
