摘要: According to one embodiment, an information recording medium has a plurality of recording layers, and records and reproduces information by using a semiconductor layer of 450 nm or less. When reproducing information, letting x be the frequency of repetitive recording of a shortest mark length and shortest space length of the information, the ratio of the value of a highest level to the value of a level at x/190 of a sum signal detected within the frequency range of x/3240 to x/190 is lower than 32 dB, or the ratio of the average value of the amplitudes of signals of repetitive recording of the shortest mark length and shortest space length to the value of the highest level within the frequency range of x/3240 to x/190 is higher than 10 dB.

摘要: According to one embodiment, single-sided dual-layer recordable disc 100 may be used. Information recording is performed by forming mark and space portions on data area DA using modulated laser power. Pp denotes the maximum laser power or peak power for forming the mark portion, and Pb denotes the bias power for forming the space portion. Power ratio Pb/Pp is calculated for each of recording layers L0 and L1. Information is recorded on any of the recording layers L0 and L1 based on the result of calculation. Here, the calculated power ratio Pb/Pp changes among the recording layers L0 and L1, thereby optimizing the recording condition for a multi-layer recordable optical disc within relatively short time.

摘要: A substrate having a photoresist coated thereon is exposed to exposure light along a line through a lens 1. The exposure position is moved from the initial position O1 to a position O2 that is separated from the initial position by a distance corresponding to the sum of a groove width Gw and a land width Lw. The exposure is carried out along a line parallel to the initial exposure line. By repeating this, exposed areas having a width Lw and a separation Gw are formed on the photoresist. The photoresist is developed to remove the exposed areas of the photoresist. A resin or the like is pressed on it to form a replica. From the replica, a stamper is manufactured using an electroforming method. Finally, a grooved molding substrate is manufactured from a glass or resin using the stamper. Although the land width Lw is defined by the effective spot diameter φ of the optical system, the groove width Gw can be less than this value.

摘要: The invention is to observe semiconductor wafers with higher resolution at a low acceleration voltage—in particular, achieving such high-resolution observability when a wafer is inclined or tilted at large angles. A composite lens is used which consists essentially of a single-pole or monopole magnetic field type lens and an electrostatic field invasive lens whereas an electrode of the electrostatic field invasive lens which opposes the wafer is made of a magnetic material while letting a high voltage of the negative polarity be applied to this electrode and the wafer. Even when the wafer is tilted, any astigmatism and axis failure will hardly occur.
