摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive member, a charging member, an electrostatic latent image forming member, a developing member, a transferring member, and a cleaning device. The cleaning device includes a cleaning brush contacting with a photosensitive member to remove residual toner on the surface of the photosensitive member and a lubricant supplying brush contacting with the photosensitive member to supply a lubricant to the surface of the photosensitive member. The lubricant supplying brush is configured to change an amount of the lubricant supplied to the surface of the photosensitive member depending on a linear speed of the photosensitive member.

The flicker performs a flicking operation corresponding to a part of the entire area in the axial direction of the cleaning brush roller at one time. A process cartridge and an image forming apparatus include the image carrier and the cleaning device.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member, a charging roller and a pair of gap forming members. The image bearing member has a photoconductive surface including an image forming area for bearing an electrostatic latent image. The charging roller has a circular cross section with a first radius and a metallic core having a rotational axis of the charging roller, in parallel with and close to the image bearing member, and a charging surface for charging the photoconductive surface. The pair of gap forming members form a gap at least between the image forming area and the charging surface. Each of the pair of gap forming members have a circular cross section with a second radius such that a ratio of the second radius to the first radius is substantially constant through a whole rotational phase of the charging roller.

摘要： A laser light source is disclosed consisting of first and second lasers that respectively generate laser beams of wavelengths λ1 and λ2. Wavelength λ1 is in the range of 0.9-1.0 μm. A nonlinear optical crystal uses the laser beams of wavelengths λ1 and λ2 as inputs, and outputs a coherent beam having a wavelength λ3 of a difference frequency that satisfies a relationship of 1/λ1−1/λ2=1/λ3. The nonlinear optical crystal has a periodically poled structure of a single period. The wavelength λ3 of the difference frequency varies between 3.1 μm and 2.0 μm when the wavelength λ2 varies between 1.3 μm and 1.8 μm.

摘要： An image carrier includes a tubular image carrier body to carry an image on an outer circumferential surface thereof, a shaft disposed inside the image carrier body, a first flange mounted on the shaft, and a second flange spaced apart from the first flange in an axial direction of the image carrier and mounted on the shaft. Each of the first flange and the second flange includes a through-hole contacting the shaft, a first engagement portion to engage a lateral end of the image carrier body in the axial direction of the image carrier, and a second engagement portion, constituting at least a part of the through-hole, to engage the shaft. The second engagement portion is disposed inboard from the first engagement portion in the axial direction of the image carrier.
