The process can easily and efficiently produce aziridine compounds.

    摘要: In the presence of a metal catalyst such as a samarium compound, an enol ester compound shown by the formula (1) is reacted with a carbonyl compound shown by the formula (3) and a cyanogenation agent to produce an .alpha.-cyanohydrin ester shown by the formula (4): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.7, and R.sup.8 are the same or different from each other, each representing a non-reactive atom or a non-reactive organic group; R.sup.2, R.sup.3, and R.sup.4 are the same or different from each other, each representing a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms.By hydrolyzing the obtained compound, the corresponding .alpha.-hydroxy acid or a salt thereof can be obtained. According to the above processes, an .alpha.-cyanohydrin ester and an .alpha.-hydroxy acid can be obtained in high yields.

The process gives the oxygen-containing organic compound in a high yield and enables easy recovery and reuse of the catalyst.

    摘要: A process for producing organic sulfur acid or a salt thereof of the present invention allows an organic substrate to react with a sulfur oxide in the presence of a metallic compound catalyst and in the absence of N-hydroxy and N-oxo cyclic imide compounds and thereby yields a corresponding organic sulfur acid or a salt thereof. Such organic substrates include, for example, (a) homocyclic or heterocyclic compounds having a methylene group, (b) compounds having a methine carbon atom, (c) compounds having a methyl group or methylene group at the adjacent position to an unsaturated bond, (d) non-aromatic heterocyclic compounds having a carbon-hydrogen bond at the adjacent position to a hetero atom, and (e) straight-chain alkanes. The sulfur oxide includes, for example, sulfur dioxide. This production process can efficiently produce an organic sulfur acid or a salt thereof under mild conditions.

    摘要: A process for producing an aldehyde of the invention allows a 1,2-diol (vic-diol) to react with oxygen in the presence of a ruthenium catalyst supported on a carrier to oxidatively cleave a bond between two carbon atoms, where hydroxyl groups are combined with the carbon atoms, to thereby yield a corresponding aldehyde. The carrier includes, for example, an activated carbon. As a catalytic component to be supported on the carrier, dichlorotris(triphenylphosphine)ruthenium(II), and other organic ruthenium complexes, for example, can be used. The invention can efficiently produce a corresponding aldehyde by oxidative cleavage of a 1,2-diol with oxygen.
