Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes a reading device for reading a document to generate image data, and for outputting the image data at a predetermined cycle. A reading control unit receives the image data output by the reading device. A moving device, driven by a driving unit, moves the document and the reading device relative to each other. A timing control unit controls (i) a driving timing of the driving unit, and (ii) a data timing at which the image data output from the reading device is received by the reading control unit. The timing control unit controls the driving timing and the data timing such that a moving speed of the document is accelerated, and the image data output from the reading device is selectively received by the reading control unit in accordance with the driving timing.

Abstract:
By using the ratio of the G component to the R component G/R, or the ratio of the B component to the R component B/R, from a television monitor image, and referring to a conversion table for converting to distribution temperature, a surface temperature of a flame is found for each pixel. An area in which luminance signals included in an image of a surveillance area exceed a prescribed level is sampled as a flame outline, and at least the distribution temperature of a sampled flame region is detected, and distance to a radiant energy source is measured. The amount of radiant energy from the radiant energy source is estimated by computation, based on the sampled flame area and its distribution temperature and the distance to the source of radiant energy. The system is provided with a fire image recognition section for recognizing a fire from radiant energy itself and from change in radiant energy over time and outputting fire detection information and an intruder entity recognition section which, from monitor images from the same camera, recognizes an intruder entity and outputs burglary detection information. Processing modes are provided enabling fire and/or intruder entity image processing to be selected. If abnormality detection information is received using fire image or intruder entity recognition processing, a pre-alarm is outputted in the central monitor room, and also the monitor image in the central monitor room is switched to the image of the location where the abnormality has been detected.

More specifically, the present invention relates to an aqueous ink composition, comprising(a) an aqueous medium, and(b) and azo dye which has a hydroxyl group and/or an amino group, and also has 1 to 4 phosphorus-containing groups represented by the formula; ##STR1## wherein x represents an oxygen atom or an alkylene group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, M represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal atom or --NH(R).sub.3 (wherein R, which is the same or different, represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms or a hydroxyalkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms), m represents 0 or 1, and n represents 0 or 1.
Abstract:
Frequency division multiplex signal lights are propagated through an optical fiber, and polarizations of the lights are collectively controlled by a polarization controller. The polarization-controlled signal lights are received separately in receiving systems including optical heterodyne or homodyne receivers. In the collective polarization control, a step is selected from steps of controlling relative polarization states of local oscillation lights to coincide to each other, receiving a control signal from one of the receiving systems which receives a signal light of a frequency to be allocated in the center of a frequency band of the signal lights or the vicinity thereof, and dividing the frequency division multiplex signal lights into plural groups, thereby controlling polarizations collectively in each of the plural groups. One of the polarizations of the signal lights may be orthogonal to the others, and one of the polarizations of the local oscillation lights may be orthogonal to the others correspondingly.
Abstract:
In a navigator for use on a road vahicle, a memory is responsive to an external switch operation to preliminarily store any specific point on a map and a controller is responsive to the generation of a move command to move a cursor indicative of the present position of the vehicle to the specific point stored in the memory. In this way, by preliminarily entering any specific point into the memory, it is possible to easily set the position of the vehicle to the stored specific point.
Abstract:
A double-wall pipe includes an outer pipe, and an inner pipe disposed inside the outer pipe. An outer wall of the inner pipe has thereon a ridge portion, which defines a groove portion extending in a longitudinal direction of the inner pipe. The outer pipe and the inner pipe are bent to have a straight portion extending straightly, and a bend portion bent from the straight portion. In the straight portion, the outer pipe has an inside diameter that is larger than an outside diameter of an imaginary cylinder defined by an outer surface of the ridge portion of the inner pipe. Furthermore, the ridge portion of the inner pipe contacts an inside surface of the outer pipe to be radially squeezed and held by the outer pipe, in the bend portion. The double-wall pipe can be suitably used for a refrigerant cycle device.

Abstract:
To solve a problem in that, even after a charge inhibition signal is input from an input terminal and a charge control transistor is turned OFF, if a load is connected between external terminals (EB+, EB−), a discharge current flows, and to solve another problem of power consumption of a charge/discharge control circuit (22), provided is a charge/discharge control circuit for controlling charge/discharge of a secondary battery, the charge/discharge control circuit including: a switch circuit for controlling a current that flows through the charge/discharge control circuit; a control circuit for controlling an operation of the switch circuit; and an input terminal to which a signal for controlling an operation of the charge/discharge control circuit is input from outside. In this way, when a signal is input to the input terminal from outside, the discharge current is interrupted, thereby reducing current consumption of the charge/discharge control circuit.
