摘要： A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a liquid crystal display unit for displaying image signals, a lighting device including a light-adjustment unit for adjusting a quantity of light from a light source, which is transmitted to each of plural regions into which the lighting device is divided for illuminating corresponding plural illumination regions of an entirety of a display area of the liquid crystal display unit, and a control unit. The control unit controls each light-adjustment unit in synchronization with horizontal synchronization signals and vertical synchronization signals, so that the adjusted light quantity of individual ones of the plural regions of the divided lighting device is shifted among the plural regions and an individual illumination region of the plural illumination regions of the entirety of the display area of the liquid crystal display unit is correspondingly shifted therewith.

摘要： A thin light source unit employs a plurality of light emitting diode chips in multiple colors to generate highly uniform white light at a low cost and with a high light utilization efficiency. The light source unit has light emitting diode chips, lead frames, and a transparent sealer. The light emitting diode chips in at least three different colors are integrally sealed with the transparent sealer. 摘要： A liquid crystal display apparatus having a diffusion plate and/or a prism sheet disposed between a liquid crystal display device and a plurality of light emission portions. Each light emission portion is constituted by an optical guide and one or more light emitting devices. The optical guide has a light reflection surface formed in a substrate and a light transmission surface brought into tight contact with the light reflection surface. The light emitting devices are integrated with the optical guide. Then, the light reflection surface is a scatter reflection surface, and an average angle between the light reflection surface and the light transmission surface is set to range from 7° to 23°. Thus, obtained is a thin-type liquid crystal display apparatus high in luminance of light outgoing to the front surface of the display apparatus and superior in uniformity of outgoing angle distribution or luminance distribution.

摘要： A display device is constituted by a display module which determines a plurality of pieces of pixels as belonging to one block unit, selects the plurality of pixels in each block unit at the same time and displays a picture image by adding one or a plurality of specific patterns each having different spatial frequencies of each block unit; a display control unit which controls the display module; a picture image signal generation unit which generates picture image signals; and a computing circuit which generates the specific patterns each having different spatial frequencies while weighting the same based on the picture image signals for every block unit. Thereby, a display device which reduces the signal clock frequency as well as increases the signal writing time, enhances the opening rate of an LC panel and permits a highly fine display and a high speed motion picture display, is obtained.
