摘要: Embodiments of the present invention precisely measure clearance variation by temperature change using a value in a RW channel. In an embodiment of the present invention, an HDD measures resolution by signals in a RW channel. The measured resolution shows variations depending on temperature according to two factors. One factor is the clearance variation depending on the temperature and the other is the variation in operational property of the RW channel depending on the temperature. The HDD compensates for the temperature variation of the resolution according to the two factors. The HDD uses two kinds of sensed temperature. One corresponds to the temperature inside an enclosure in which head sliders are provided and the other corresponds to the temperature of the chip in which the RW channel is implemented. Sensing the drive temperature and the channel temperature independently achieves precise compensation for the variation in the measured resolution caused by clearance variation and channel property.

摘要: A suspension having a magnetic head assembly 1 mounted thereon is provided, wherein the magnetic head assembly comprises: a write head 1-2; a read head 1-1; and a resistive heating element 1-3 for controlling the flying heights of the magnetic heads, wherein the wires HTx and GTx for the resistive heating element is disposed such that they sandwich the wires RxX and RxY for the read head. The wires for the resistive heating element may be disposed between the wires for the write head and the wires for the read head. Furthermore, the waveform of the current or voltage to the resistive heating element has a time constant of 1 μsec or more, the resistive heating element having wires disposed near the wires of the read head.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention secure a sufficiently large magnetic field, and deter a protrusion phenomenon of a perpendicular magnetic recording head, causing a problem in implementing a low flying height, while solving problems such as erasure of information in peripheral tracks. In one embodiment, a main pole or a stacked body made up of the main pole, and an auxiliary pole is deposited over an underlayer formed on a substrate so as to be in contact with the underlayer. On top of the main pole or the stacked body, there is deposited a coil, a return pole, and a read element in that order, thereby fabricating a perpendicular magnetic recording head. Further, an additional structure may be added such that an underlayer containing a metal is disposed between the substrate, and the main pole or the stacked body made up of the main pole, and the auxiliary pole, and a heat diffusion layer is disposed between portions of the coil and the substrate, or portions of the coil is disposed closer to the substrate than other portions of the coil.

摘要: An apparatus for continuously manufacturing a sheet of molded compound includes a first conveying unit for continuously conveying a lower film. First and second impregnation rollers are provided above the lower film for impregnating a viscous material and a solid material to obtain a compound mixture to be dropped onto the lower film. First and second scraping rollers are provided below the first and second impregnation rollers to scrape the compound mixture from the impregnation rollers. A scattering roller is provided below the first impregnation roller upstream from the first scraping roller relative the feed direction of the lower film. The scattering roller is positioned to act upon rotation to prevent scattering of portions of the composite mixture caused at least in part by the first scraping roller. A second conveying unit is provided for conveying an upper film. Included in the second conveying unit is a guide roller positioned below the second impregnation unit downstream the second scraping roller relative the feed direction of the lower film. The guide roller is positioned with the upper film disposed thereabout to prevent scattering of portions of the composite mixture caused at least in part by the second scrapping roller. Supply pipes are provided for supplying the viscous material which are disposed above the first and second impregnation rollers. Each supply pipe includes a plurality of openings which have varying opening areas to compensate for a decrease in an internal pressure of the supply pipe as the viscous material flows within the supply pipe.
